The highly technical, light and durable avalanche backpack ORTOVOX ASCENT 30 AVABAG KIT is ideal for one-day ski touring, ski mountaineering or splitboarding. With a volume of 30 liters and internal pockets, you will have enough space for the necessary equipment that you need with you for a perfect day in the mountains on the ski slopes. The ASCENT avalanche backpack stands out above all for its wide range of equipment attachment options, such as two ice axes, a rope, a helmet and skis. Comprehensive comfort is underlined by a comfortable 3D back system. With the drawstring straps, you can reduce the size of the backpack or completely remove the avalanche system and use the backpack for any other purpose.

You attach everything important to the backpack
The intuitive system for attaching equipment is a real advantage and an edge over the competition. Everything has its place, it is firmly attached. You can attach: skis (D-Skifix)/snowboard/snowshoes, hiking poles, two ice axes, helmet, rope and carabiners to the backpack.

Comfortable wearing
The 3D foam back system is covered with softshell to prevent snow from sticking to the back. The wide waist belt, which is equipped with a metal buckle, together with the ergonomically shaped shoulder straps, ensures a very comfortable wearing. It has no unnecessary straps and rubber bands, but only functional elements. Although the backpack is made of soft material to the touch, the fabric used with a ripstop weave is extremely resistant to tearing. Every detail of the backpack is well-crafted, durable materials are used, so you don't have to worry about the edges of skis, snowboards, ice axes or snowshoes.

The AVABAG avalanche system is compact and extremely light
Made in Switzerland, it works on the principle of the Venturi effect, which does not need any electronics to function, is fully enclosed and very simple in design. There is no damage or corrosion.

Despite the fact that the system is small, it is extremely strong (it was able to lift a car during tests). The rescue cushion with a volume of 160 liters is not glued or sewn. Everything is connected by innovative welding technology in one single edge. That's why the bag is so light, durable and waterproof. The instructions for assembling the airbag are part of the backpack and you always have this important information with you. The rescue system is also removable and you can use it with other ORTOVOX AVABAG backpacks. The exchange is very quick and easy. The loops and hooks are color-coded, so you can attach each hook to the right place.

Canadian avalanche researcher Pascal Haegele reports that 12% of people who were carrying any avalanche systems and were buried and died because they failed to activate the unit properly. This led ORTOVOX to the idea of ​​repeatedly trying to activate the system without the need for a bomb. So you can train in the dirt and be confident that if the worst happens, you know exactly what to do.
Instructions:

- stretch the needle with the activation key
- put on the backpack
- set the correct position of the handle to the height of the figure
- adjust the backpack and tighten it tightly (waist belt, shoulder straps, tighten the back)
- pull the handle
- hear a clicking sound (you have done everything correctly) - Don't forget to stretch the needle again

The non-slip coated handle is fully rotatable. In addition, it can be adjusted according to the height of the figure, so you will always have it at hand. At the moment when you go to sit somewhere or take the cable car, you can store the handle in the shoulder strap and that way there will be no unwanted activation!

Carbon bomb for the plane
For the AVABAG system, use the original carbon bomb, which weighs only 310 g. Despite the same thread and size of the cylinder, the gas content is under a different pressure and in a different volume than in the cylinder of the ABS system. Therefore, it is not possible to use the ABS cylinder with the AVABAG system. After using the cartridge, it is not necessary to buy a new one, but it is sufficient to have it refilled at an ORTOVOX dealer. The filling is certified for 5 years. AVABAG bombs are certified by an international airline for safety, so you can transport them by air.

Everything has its place
The main pocket has a two-way zipper along the perimeter of the backpack, so you can access it like a suitcase. You can see everything right away and you don't have to search the whole backpack. The interior space is bright so that you can find even a small detail in it. In the main chamber, you will find printed instructions for assembling the bag, a loop for the gas cylinder and a clip for the water tank. There are two pockets on the inside of the lid, where you can keep things you want to have quickly available - gloves, hats, biscuits. There is also a compartment for avalanche equipment. The zipper has red ends so that it is immediately obvious which pocket you should open in the event of an accident.
