With the help of the ORTOVOX POCKET SPIKE spikes, which you simply clip onto the end of the avalanche shovel handle FOR ALU III, you can turn the shovel into a makeshift ice axe. The tips are made of hardened duralumin AL 7075 T6, which you won't destroy even in contact with rock or when mowing frozen ground and grass. On steep slopes and blown-out frozen peaks, you will appreciate the prevention of slipping and, in the event of a fall, its stopping. You won't even feel the weight of 90 g in the backpack.

Statistics show that each year significantly more people are injured or tragically killed when falling on firn and hard snow than in avalanches. ORTOVOX POCKET SPIKE is a practical helper in steep parts, ridge sections or for downhill in glacial terrain.
