Nikwax Down Proof waterproofing
Waterproofing agent from Nikwax, for down-filled clothing and equipment. Increases water repellency, restores original insulation and breathability. Application is possible in a washing machine or by hand. Suitable for down clothing and down sleeping bags.Instructions for use:
For best results, first remove all parts unsuitable for washing and wash with Nikwax® Down Wash. It is not necessary to dry items before waterproofing.Washing machine application:
1. Remove all residues of detergent from the detergent drawer.2. Place the clean garment in the washing machine.
3. Use three capfuls (150 ml) per item.
4. Set to a synthetic program (40 °C) and low spin speed.
Hand application:
1. Immerse the garment in a basin or sink with water warm enough to keep your hands in.2. For clothing, use three capfuls (150 ml) for one item and six capfuls (300 ml) for two items. Ensure the garment is fully submerged in water. For sleeping bags, use six capfuls (300 ml) in a bath with water approximately four centimeters deep. (Three- and four-season sleeping bags should be cleaned professionally).
3. Rinse, let soak for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly again.
4. Rinse in cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and gently squeeze out excess water.
Drying:
Hang the product in a well-ventilated area and regularly fluff and shake it. If permitted by the manufacturer, tumble dry on a low heat until all clumps have disappeared.|
