Fenix HM75R Rechargeable Headlamp

The Fenix HM75R rechargeable headlamp features two beams with up to 1600 lumens and a powerful red light with up to 120 lumens. The long-range spotlight with a top-of-the-line Luminus SST-40 LED creates a well-focused beam with a throw of up to 223 meters, and the second spotlight with powerful Luminus SST-20 LEDs has a very wide and smooth flood beam with a throw of up to 60 meters. The luminous flux of the long-range spotlight is up to 1600 lumens, and the wide-beam spotlight offers a maximum output of 1000 lumens and a neutral white light. The light from both spotlights cannot be combined; you can easily switch between them using the rotary switch on the side of the headlamp.

The headlamp is powered by a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery 3400 mAh, which is located inside the headlamp. Additionally, it has a detachable rear battery case with a 21700 5000 mAh battery for significantly extended runtime. The rear battery case can also function as a standalone power bank for charging any USB devices. It connects to the headlamp via a USB-C cable equipped with anti-pull-out locks. The headlamp can also be operated without the internal battery, powered only by the power bank via USB-C cable (with slightly reduced maximum output). The package also includes a 1-meter extension USB-C cable, allowing you to hide the battery case under your jacket, for example, to prevent excessive battery cooling in winter.

The headlamp is made of lightweight and durable magnesium alloy, its construction is fully dust and waterproof according to IP68 standard, and also impact-resistant from a 2-meter drop.

Thanks to its high performance and endurance parameters, the HM75R headlamp is suitable for everyone who wants a powerful and reliable companion in extreme conditions. It serves excellently for work, e.g., for rescuers, as well as for athletes, climbers, repairmen, hikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts. A pleasant bonus is the very strong red light.

All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Using the HM75R Headlamp

From the factory, there may be an insulating cap on the batteries. Remove it before first use.

The headlamp is turned on and off by the rotary switch on the right side. In the first position, the headlamp is off. Turning it to the second position turns it on in long-range spotlight mode. Turning it to the third position turns it on in wide-beam spotlight mode. Turning it to the fourth position turns on the red spotlight. The output modes in each position are cycled by pressing the button located on the side of the rotary switch.

Memory for the last set output mode - The headlamp has memory and will always turn on in the last set output mode of the selected spotlight, except for the highest modes of the long-range and wide-beam spotlights, which will turn on in the second-highest mode of that spotlight instead.

Locking the supplied USB-C cable in the connectors - The package includes a USB-C cable to connect the headlamp and the battery case. The cable is equipped with locks at both ends to prevent accidental disconnection from the headlamp or battery case. To lock the cable, plug the USB-C cable into the connector on the headlamp and battery case, and turn the cable ends clockwise. To unlock the cable, turn the ends counterclockwise and disconnect it.

Intelligent proximity sensor dimming - The headlamp has a built-in protection circuit. When the spotlight gets closer than 60 mm to the illuminated object for more than 1.5 seconds, it automatically reduces the output to a low mode to prevent damage to the object from strong light and glare from reflected light. When the spotlight is more than 0.8 seconds away from the illuminated object, the headlamp automatically restores the previously used output level. Turning the intelligent proximity sensor on/off - With the headlamp off, press and hold the side button for 6 seconds. The function is turned on when the headlamp flashes twice in low mode. The function is turned off when the headlamp flashes eight times in low mode.

Intelligent overheat protection - When the headlamp is used for extended periods at high output modes, a significant amount of heat accumulates. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it automatically reduces the output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will gradually increase again.

Low battery warning in the headlamp - When the battery voltage drops below a set level, the headlamp automatically switches to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest output mode. Once the lowest output is reached, the battery level indicator will start flashing to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.

Charging and Power Bank Function

Charging the headlamp - Flip open the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the headlamp's charging port. After charging is complete, replace the dust cover. During the charging process, four indicators on the top of the headlamp will light up and flash sequentially. Four solid lights indicate that charging is complete. The normal charging time is 4 hours with a 5V/2.5A USB power source for a completely discharged headlamp.

Note: When charging with a 9V USB power source, the headlamp can be used in all modes. The maximum output of the long-range spotlight will be limited to 1200 lumens and the wide-beam spotlight to 700 lumens. When charging with a 5V USB power source, the headlamp can only be used in the two lowest modes of either spotlight. The headlamp will flash several times upon first connection to a USB power source, indicating the charging voltage used. Two flashes indicate charging with 5V, and four flashes indicate charging with 9V. When powered by a USB source, the headlamp can also be used without an internal battery. Only use original Fenix ARB-L18 batteries for charging in the headlamp.

Charging the rear battery case - Flip open the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the case's charging port. After charging is complete, replace the dust cover. During charging, the indicator light in the button on the battery case glows red. It turns green when fully charged.

Power bank function of the rear battery case - Flip open the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the case's charging port. Pressing the button on the battery case once activates the power bank function. If the power bank is on, pressing the button again turns it off. After replacing the battery in the battery case, the power bank function will automatically turn on if connected to the headlamp. The power bank supports the following fast charging protocols: PD3.0/PD2.0, QC3.0/QC2.0, FCP, SFCP, PE2.0/PE1.1

Low-load detection function of the power bank* - With the power bank function of the rear battery case turned on, press and hold the button on the case for 3 seconds. Turning on the low-load detection function is indicated by three red flashes of the indicator LED in the button. Turning off the function is indicated by eight red flashes. This function is designed for charging USB devices with very low power consumption, such as fitness trackers and wireless headphones. With the low-load detection function enabled, the power bank will automatically stop discharging when the headlamp is fully charged. To restart the power bank function, reconnect the USB-C cable to it, or press the button on the battery case. With the low-load detection function turned off, turn off the power bank function using the button when the headlamp is fully charged to avoid unnecessary battery drain from the rear battery case.

Battery status indication when the power bank is turned on - If the battery is sufficiently charged, the button on the case flashes green. If the battery voltage drops below 3.2V, the button flashes red. The power bank function will automatically turn off if the battery voltage drops below 3.0V.

Battery charge level indication in the headlamp - A short press of any button (the headlamp must be off) activates the battery level indicator LED on the top of the headlamp. Four solid LEDs mean the battery is charged at 80-100%, three solid LEDs mean 60-80%, two solid LEDs mean 40-60%, one solid LED means 20-40%, and one flashing LED means the battery is charged at less than 20%.

Battery charge level indication in the battery case - If the rear battery case is not connected by cable to the headlamp or another USB device, you can check the battery charge level in the case by pressing the button. If the indicator diode lights up green after pressing the button, the battery is charged at over 85%. Green flashing means 50-85% capacity. If it lights up red, it is charged at 25-50%. Red flashing means less than 25% battery capacity remains.

Battery replacement - Unscrew the headlamp cap and insert the battery with the positive pole facing into the headlamp. Then, fully tighten the headlamp cap again. When replacing the battery in the rear battery case, insert the battery with the positive pole facing outwards. If the caps of the headlamp or battery case are not fully tightened, they will not function correctly.

Warnings

  • Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
  • Use only high-quality Li-ion batteries for power.
  • If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher output modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
    • The batteries are almost depleted – replace them or recharge the battery.
    • The contacts in the battery case are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
