Petzl RIG rope brake

RIG is a compact self-locking rappelling device for rope access, intended for experienced users. It has an ergonomic handle that allows comfortable control of the rope. The AUTO-LOCK system allows workers to easily position themselves at the work station without having to manipulate the handle or tie a locking knot. After blocking, the rope can be lifted up without the need to handle the handle. The safety latch allows the rope to be installed even when the device is attached to the harness.

Easy to use:

• Easy rope installation thanks to grooves and markings
• The ergonomic handle allows the rope to be released and enables comfortable control of the rope.
• Two possible roping modes: the outgoing end of the rope leads sideways through the sidewall or forward through the V-shaped friction segment
• The AUTO-LOCK system allows the worker to easily position himself at the work station without having to manipulate the handle or tie the securing knot: as soon as the user releases the handle, the rope is automatically locked in the device
• The automatic handle return system limits the risk of accidentally catching the device
• The handle automatically returns to the stowed position when the rope is removed from the device, reducing the risk of accidental snagging when transporting the device on a harness

Universality:

• The cam can be manipulated as with a safety brake, it is possible to feed and retrieve the belay rope during ascents with climbing equipment
• The stainless steel friction segment increases the resistance of the friction zone of the rope
• The possibility of abseiling with heavy loads up to 200 kg
• Compatibility with ropes: diameter 10 to 11.5 mm
