Black Diamond Camalot Ultralight is an even lighter version of one of the most popular friends produced in the world. The same reliability and comfort of use with a weight reduction of up to 25% compared to the standard version is extremely impressive. The difference can be felt especially on longer trips with full climbing equipment. Weight savings were made possible by modifying key components of each friend to get rid of excess material that does not directly translate into strength.
The cams used in the Camalot Ultralight have been mechanically treated to remove unnecessary material. The resulting cams are significantly lighter while maintaining high reliability. Thanks to the two-axis construction used in the buddy, the individual sizes of the buddies have a significantly larger range in which their seating in the groove will be correct.
It has an extremely light core in which the metal cable has been replaced by Dyneema. This provides maximum strength with low weight. The tendons were also adjusted. Now they are at least thinner, and at the same time they work just as well - the whole thing works smoothly and reliably. The lightweight Black Diamond Camalot Ultralight Fiends hold perfectly in the hand and provide complete freedom, which facilitates their safe and precise seating in the grooves. The large trigger is characterized by a smooth operation and allows precise manipulation of the friend.
