Women's socks TOUR LONG SOCKS are ideal for long and strenuous ski tours. Ergonomic shaping for the left and right leg, as well as a double elastic cuff and a special zone for ankle stabilization ensure a perfect fit. Flat seams on the tip prevent abrasions and blisters. Additional cushioning is provided by the padded heel and toe area, which also protects against chafing and makes these socks durable and long-lasting.

The 360-degree foot strap system regulates moisture drainage and allows the socks to breathe perfectly when the going gets tough. Thanks to merino wool , they naturally regulate moisture and neutralize odors, while being pleasant to the touch.

Each zone fulfills its purpose

Functional socks TOUR LONG SOCKS stand out with their ergonomic shape. During the process of seamless knitting, special zones are created, each of which fulfills its specific purpose:

  • Toes with flat seams to eliminate blisters.
  • Reinforced heel and toe, for better comfort and longer life.
  • The flat construction guarantees good flexibility and does not allow the socks to push you.
  • 360° belt around the arch of the foot with excellent breathability and moisture removal.
  • The sock is ergonomically shaped for the right and left foot separately.
  • Ergonomically shaped ankle, thanks to which the sock does not wrinkle or come off.
  • Elastic cuff against gathering of the sock.

Comfort thanks to Merino wool

Thanks to the natural properties of Merino wool, the socks are able to wick moisture away, have good thermoregulatory properties, neutralize odors and are very comfortable. This makes them a great companion for long and demanding ski mountaineering tours and also for high-altitude alpine crossings.

The highest quality Merino wool

ORTOVOX uses only the highest quality Merino wool from Tasmania for all underwear. Merino wool is a material that degrades only negligibly over time and retains its functional properties for many years. The length of all fibers used is at least 6 cm, which is not standard in the production of woolen linen. The longer the fibers, the stronger the yarns can be obtained. This prevents the formation of holes during wear of the material. The quality of the fibers is primarily determined by its length, fineness and the same diameter of the individual fibers.
ORTOVOX also has demanding criteria for sheep breeding itself, which significantly affects the quality of its wool. In order to fulfill it, ORTOVOX only buys wool from selected farms that are subject to regular inspection. ORTOVOX checks 64 different quality criteria that every farm must meet. Thanks to this, the wool used in ORTOVOX underwear is only of the highest quality.
  • Wool is very comfortable.
  • Neutralizes odor (has an antibacterial effect).
  • It has a large thermoregulation range.
  • It absorbs moisture into its internal structure and remains dry on the surface.
  • Easy maintenance.
  • Pleasant to the touch.
  • It has a long life.

Tasmanian Island

Tasmania is an island south of Australia and is only 2,500 km from Antarctica. The climate is cool with abundant rainfall and nutritious pasture for sheep. The island is strictly guarded against sheep diseases. This makes Tasmania the most suitable location on earth for breeding Merino sheep, and for over 150 years the finest quality wool in the world has been produced here.

This legendary German company named Ortovox has been specializing in challenging mountain activities since 1980. They became popular, thanks to their avalanche transceiver ORTOVOX F2. It had a double frequency transceiver for searching avalanche victims. Except for safety systems and finders, they also offer apparel, backpacks, shovels, probes, and other freeride and alpine equipment.
