Mountain Equipment Trango jacket, dusk/red rock
The modern Mountain Equipment TRANGO JACKET down jacket with a unique patented construction of offset chambers offers extra thermal comfort, which is so necessary in the winter mountains.
Thanks to its construction, it is very light and easy to pack, while its thermal insulation is comparable even to much heavier expedition down jackets. With the waterproof DRILITE® Loft top material, you can wear the TRANGO JACKET even in bad conditions, with the certainty that the feathers will not get wet immediately and will not lose their thermal insulation properties.
269 g (size L) of pure feathers in the ratio 90/10 and filling 700 cuin.
Unique construction of offset chambers "Double layer offset baffle construction".
Internal heat-reflective material for even greater thermal properties of the jacket.
Each chamber is individually filled with feathers with a precisely defined amount of feathers for optimal insulation.
Fully adjustable insulated Mountain HC Hood with elastic hem, helmet compatible.
High-quality YKK® two-way zipper with an internal leg that prevents heat from escaping.
Two insulated zipped pockets.
Two chest pockets.
Internal chest pocket with zip and two large mesh internal pockets.
Elastic sleeve hem with velcro fastening.
Adjustable bottom hem of the jacket.
Supplied together with a return for packing.
Patented construction of offset chambers
Thanks to the unique construction of offset chambers "Double Layer Offset Baffle Construction", the TRANGO JACKET does not have classic "cold" seams. The basis of this construction is a very light heat-reflecting inner fabric, to which the seams of the individual chambers are sewn. The seam of the chamber on the inside of the jacket is in the middle of the chamber on the outside of the jacket and vice versa. As a result, the chamber is bulged on one side where there is a seam on the other side, which significantly increases the thermal insulation properties. The construction is less bulky and lighter than the construction of warm 3D seams, but at the same time significantly eliminates heat loss in contrast to classic stitched seams. This makes it a great choice for expeditions to remote areas.
Mountain HC hood - helmet compatible
The hood with an elasticated hem is easily adjustable with the help of a rear drawcord with an elasticated cord and a plastic clip. Fits well with or without a helmet.
DRILITE® Loft 40 D - resistant to water and wind
DRILITE® Loft 40D is a strong and light waterproof surface material with a PU coating. It is highly breathable and resistant to water and wind. It also has a water-repellent DWR treatment on the surface, which further contributes to keeping the feathers dry even in wet conditions. The feathers are thus protected from getting wet, and thus also from losing their heat-insulating properties. Thanks to its water resistance and low weight, the feathers maintain a high loft for maximum thermal insulation in any conditions.
Light material - 63 g/m2.
Highly breathable.
Wind resistant
Water resistant - 1500 mm).
Made in Japan.
Quality duck feathers with 700+ fill
Very high-quality duck feathers from China contain at least 90% down, its filling is at least 700 cuin and meets the ethical DOWN CODEX®. The feathers are gently cleaned with water without chemical treatment. This destroys mites and the environment for their life, which will be appreciated by allergy sufferers. The feathers retain their important fatness and loft, are packable well, have high insulation and low weight.
269 g of feathers.
Minimum filling 700+ cuin.
Down ratio 90:10.
Complies with DOWN CODEX®.
Long life.
The golden mean when choosing a warm down jacket
If we compare the technologies that can be used to make a down jacket, the construction of offset chambers is truly unique. Compared to classic quilted chambers, it is more resistant to wind, has fewer cold spots, and therefore much better thermal insulation.
Compared to down jackets with 3D chambers, it is significantly softer and more comfortable to wear and has less weight. On the other hand, it will never have as good thermal insulation as 3D chambers, and it will never be as light and resistant to the elements as jackets with FIRESTORM™ construction.
Down jackets with double layer offset baffle construction are a golden middle ground, but definitely not a compromise. For a good price/performance ratio, you get a reward in the form of a real portion of warmth and comfort.
