Opinel Vri N°08 Inox Chaperon knife, african wood
Opinel Vri N°08 Inox Chaperon knife
Luxury folding pocket knife made in France. Designed by cabinetmaker Bruno Chaperon, each handle is an original – handcrafted by joining four types of precious African wood.
High-quality stainless steel was used to produce the 8.5 cm long blade, which retains its long-lasting sharpness. Thanks to the addition of chromium, it is also anti-corrosion and requires only minimal maintenance.
The blade features excellent sharpness and high abrasion (wear) resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials such as ceramics before requiring resharpening. The advantage of stainless steel is that, unlike carbon steel, it does not require any special maintenance under normal conditions of use. However, it may reach its limits when it comes into prolonged contact with aggressive environments (acid, salt water, cleaning agents...).
