Fenix PD36R ACE flashlight, 3000 lm, black
The high-performance Fenix PD36R ACE flashlight will dazzle you with a luminous flux of up to 3000 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 415 meters. The premium Luminus SFT-70 LED is responsible for this excellent light output. It is powered by a 21700 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh (included in the package), which can be conveniently recharged directly in the flashlight via a modern USB-C connector. Beneath the durable screw-on nut that protects the USB-C charging port, there is also a unique SET programming button. With this button, you can quickly customize the flashlight: choose one of three preset profiles – tactical, duty, or outdoor – and perfectly set the number of modes according to your needs. The Fenix PD36R ACE offers up to seven different lighting modes, so you can always choose the optimal combination of performance and runtime. In eco mode, this can last over 63 hours. For emergency situations, the SOS and strobe modes are invaluable. Thanks to digital regulation, the flashlight provides constant light output even as the battery discharges, and you can easily check its status with the battery level indicator. The PD36R ACE impresses not only with its compact size and stunning performance but also with its tactical tail switch and the option to connect the Fenix AER-04 remote pressure switch. It is therefore an ideal choice not only for all outdoor enthusiasts but also serves perfectly for members of the army, security forces, or hunters.
All flashlight parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Usage
The flashlight may have an insulating cap on the battery from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.
To turn on, press the tactical switch on the tail of the flashlight; for instant activation, just press it lightly. By pressing the side button near the head of the flashlight, you can cycle through the constant lighting modes at any time during operation. To switch to strobe mode, press and hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. Pressing it again will turn on SOS. Pressing and holding the side button again will return to constant lighting modes. The number of modes that can be cycled through depends on your selected mode preset; for example, strobe can be completely deactivated (see below).
Setting Lighting Mode Presets – The SET function offers a choice of three lighting mode presets, listed in the following table.
Loosen the nut under the flashlight head to reveal the hidden SET switch.
With the light on, press the SET switch to cycle through: Setting 1 – Tactical Mode (Turbo mode only) → Setting 2 – Duty Mode (3 modes) → Setting 3 – Outdoor Activities (5 modes). When the flashlight is first turned on, Setting 3 is selected by default.
After selecting the desired preset, the corresponding indicator next to the SET button will light up green for 3 seconds as confirmation. This indicator also shows the current number of available modes for that Setting.

Note:
- Users can independently activate or deactivate the strobe mode. It is activated in all presets by default.
- The number of modes for each lighting preset excludes Strobe and SOS.
Activating and Deactivating Strobe Mode – With the light on, press and hold the hidden SET switch for 1.2 seconds to activate/deactivate Strobe mode in all mode presets. The flashlight will blink twice to confirm the selection.
Memory for Last Used Output Mode – The flashlight remembers the last used output mode within the active preset. When turned on again, it will activate in that mode (does not apply to Strobe and SOS).
Battery Replacement – Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight and insert the battery with the positive pole facing the reflector. Then, fully tighten the tail cap again.
Charging
- Unscrew the protective nut under the flashlight head to expose the charging port and connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging port. Retighten the nut after charging is complete.
- During charging, the indicator in the side switch glows red; after a full charge, it turns green. The flashlight can be turned on and off by pressing the side switch during charging. The tail switch is not functional during charging.
- The typical charging time for a fully discharged ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery is approximately 3 hours when using a sufficiently powerful power source.
Battery Level Indication – Each time the flashlight is turned on, the indicator LED in the side switch activates for three seconds. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is charged to over 85%. Flashing green indicates 50-85% capacity. If it glows red, it is charged to 25-50%. Flashing red means less than 25% battery capacity remains.
Intelligent Overheat Protection – If the flashlight temperature exceeds 60°C, the output will automatically decrease. As soon as the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will gradually increase again.
Low Battery Warning – If the voltage drops below a set level, the flashlight will reduce the brightness to a lower setting. When the lowest output is reached, the battery status indicator will start flashing red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the flashlight head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Keep the flashlight out of reach of children!
- Do not shine the flashlight directly into your eyes or anyone else's!
- Loosen the tail cap by half a turn or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
- Use only the original protected 21700 Li-ion battery to avoid damaging the flashlight.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these guidelines, the flashlight will be properly protected against water.
- If the flashlight is flickering, not switching to higher modes, or not turning on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is nearly depleted – recharge or replace the battery.
- The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The head, body, or tail cap of the flashlight is loose – apply lubricant to the O-rings and firmly tighten the head and tail cap.
