Operation of the Fenix HT18R V2.0 hunting flashlight
There may be an insulating cap on the battery from the factory. Remove it before the first use.
Turning on/off and switching lighting modes - press the round tactical switch for momentary illumination; the flashlight will turn off when released. Press the tactical switch fully to turn the flashlight on permanently. When the flashlight is on, the output levels are switched by pressing the rectangular functional switch. Holding the functional switch for 0.5 seconds activates the flashing modes.
Instant Strobe - from the off state, press and hold the rectangular functional switch; the flashlight will turn off when released.
Instant Turbo Mode - from any state (on/off), hold the round tactical switch for 0.5 seconds. When released, the flashlight will return to the previously used output. If it was off, it will turn off upon release.
Lock Function - hold both switches simultaneously for 3 seconds. When locked, the flashlight will blink twice. When unlocked, it will turn on in the last used constant lighting mode.
Memory for the last set output mode - the flashlight remembers the last used output mode, excluding flashing modes. Upon subsequent activation, it will turn on in the last used constant lighting mode.
Charging - slide open the charging port cover on the side of the flashlight and connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging port. Slide the cover back after charging is complete. The indicator light is red during charging and turns green when fully charged. The flashlight cannot be used while charging. The typical charging time for a fully discharged ARB-L21-6000 battery is approximately 1.5 hours using a 9V/3A USB power source, or 2.5 hours using a 5V/3A power source.
Battery charge level indication - an indicator LED activates for three seconds each time the flashlight is turned on. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is charged to over 85%. Flashing green means 50-85% capacity. If it is red, it is charged to 25-50%. Flashing red indicates that less than 25% of the battery capacity remains.
Intelligent overheat protection - if the flashlight temperature exceeds 60°C, the output will automatically decrease. Once the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will gradually increase again.
Low battery warning - if the voltage drops below a preset level, the flashlight will reduce the brightness to a lower level. Upon reaching the lowest output, the battery status indicator will start flashing red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.
Warning
- Use only high-quality rechargeable Li-ion 21700 batteries with protection circuits.
- Insert batteries with the positive pole facing the flashlight head.
- If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The O-rings also need to be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the flashlight will be properly protected against water.
- If the flashlight is blinking, not switching to higher output modes, or not turning on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost depleted - recharge or replace it.
- The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The head, body, or tail cap of the flashlight is loose - tighten them.
