Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX is a unique technical solution for alpinists, climbers or active tourists who want a durable shoe with increased climbing performance. The Salewa Switchfit technical system allows you to quickly adapt the fit from hiking to climbing by offering compression on the toes similar to a climbing shoe. You simply tighten the laces and pull the foot forward into the toe. Once you're done climbing, you return the laces to their original position for a wider toe and more comfort when hiking.
To increase climbing accuracy, the Wildfire Edge insole also provides an edge plate under the side of the foot and toe - for additional directional stiffness, while the rest of the insole remains flexible and responsive to ensure good comfort and a natural rolling motion.
The shoe has an 11mm drop, a lightweight, flexible mid-cut upper made from high- quality 1.6mm suede leather and Exa Shell material, which provides increased torsional stability and works with the 3F system for better flexibility, fit and foot support. Thanks to the lining made of GORE-TEX material, the shoe remains permanently waterproof and at the same time well breathable. Protection against snow, gravel or minor unevenness is then provided by a stretch sleeve in the upper part of the shoe.
