A technical and bulky backpack to which you can attach a large amount of equipment, from trekking poles to ropes, ice axes to skis. Anyone who cares about low weight and does not want to lose important functional elements will appreciate the possibility of reaching up to 780 g of weight. The innovative SWISSWOOL-TEC-KNIT back system is very comfortable and only ORTOVOX PEAK LIGHT models have it. You open the backpack on the front side using a two-sided perimeter zipper and you can get into it like a suitcase. Thanks to the bright interior, you can easily find everything you need.

Back in the dry

One of the advantages of the ORTOVOX PEAK LIGHT 40 backpack is the SWISSWOOL-TEC-KNIT back system combining premium materials and the latest technologies. The back system consists of a removable duralumin structure, technical foam and three zones of pressed wool - in the place where the most frequent contact with the back occurs. Wool absorbs 29 times more sweat than a regular foam back and does not cool like other materials. The entire back of the backpack is covered with 3D knitted material. Physiotherapists also participated in this back system with the developers of ORTOVOX.

EVEN DISTRIBUTION OF WEIGHT

The weight distribution is ensured by the padded wide waist belt and shoulder straps, which are cushioned on the inside so that they do not press on your neck. The shoulder straps are ergonomically adapted to the human figure. These straps can be tightened not only from below, but also from above, and the backpack will adapt better to your figure. The hip belt is connected directly to the back system and smoothly passes and surrounds the body. You won't feel any joints and will enjoy comfortable walking or climbing all day long.

Equipment attachment system

On the ORTOVOX PEAK LIGHT 40 backpack you can attach all the necessary equipment for high-altitude tourism, mountaineering and ski mountaineering. Every piece of equipment has its place, it is fixed firmly, and putting on and taking it down is quick and easy.
  • skis (A-Skifix)
  • rope
  • two ice axes
  • sticks
  • helmet
  • carabiners
  • ice ax in standby position (loop on shoulder strap)

Comfortable access to the contents of the backpack

You can get to the main compartment of the backpack through two entrances. The first option is to unzip the entire front of the backpack using a two-way perimeter zipper, similar to a suitcase. The second variant is through the collar in the upper lid of the backpack with SIMPLY & FAST fastening. The collar can be pulled down by pulling the cord. Entry will only be allowed when you pull the plastic clip and thereby release the system lock.

Well-thought-out pocket system

The backpack has several practical pockets. Each compartment and pocket has its purpose and allows you to have things at hand whenever it is needed.
  • The space inside the main chamber offers attachment of avalanche equipment - shovels and probes.
  • The main compartment has an elastic strap for fixing a water bottle or reservoir and a clip for its attachment - in addition, it is possible to lead the tube in the middle of the backpack between the shoulder straps.
  • Front zip pocket - for map, topo and compass.
  • Outer lid pocket for storing active accessories - cap, gloves, scarf, etc.
  • There is also a plastic carabiner for keys in the outer pocket of the lid.
  • Inner lid pocket for storing small equipment - headlamp, knife, documents, cash and valuables.
  • The pocket on the hip belt is suitable for a mobile phone, camera, GPS.

Robust processing

Extremely light, durable and high-quality nylon fabric Nylon 420D Oxford is used on the backpack. Thanks to the use of two different technical fibers, this material is exceptionally robust and resistant to abrasion. In addition, nylon is one of the lightest materials used in ORTOVOX backpacks. The PU coating on the inside gives the backpack the necessary water resistance, which is further supported by the DWR treatment on its outside.

This legendary German company named Ortovox has been specializing in challenging mountain activities since 1980. They became popular, thanks to their avalanche transceiver ORTOVOX F2. It had a double frequency transceiver for searching avalanche victims. Except for safety systems and finders, they also offer apparel, backpacks, shovels, probes, and other freeride and alpine equipment.
