Ortovox merino wool is extremely soft and pleasant to wear. The jacket does not smell even after frequent wear thanks to the antibacterial function of the wool and since the wool absorbs moisture into its core, it is dry on the surface, you do not feel damp and warm even when wet. You will appreciate this during demanding and long activities. The thermoregulation range offers to have a jacket at +15 °C and at the same time at -10 °C when actively climbing uphill.

You will feel 100% Tasmanian Merino on your skin - in the parts of the jacket where there is a softshell. Wool is a material that does not age and retains its functional properties for many years. The service life is also supported by the length of the individual fibers, which is at least 6 cm for ORTOVOX products - for other manufacturers of woolen clothing it is usually 3 cm. This increases the friction and the subsequent strength of the yarn. In order for the wool to meet the demanding criteria, Ortovox buys wool from 6 farms, which are subject to regular checks to see if they meet all 64 quality criteria.

Resistant material against abrasion, weather and dirt.

The outer side is made of quality Swiss Schoeller Naturetec softshell, which is resistant to mechanical wear and increases UV resistance. The material has a water-repellent treatment. That's why dirt doesn't stick to it and drops of water run off. For the same reason (because synthetics do not absorb moisture) the jacket dries quickly, but is still windproof thanks to the densely woven material.

Swisswool wool is glued in the panels and stays in place - therefore it warms everywhere and the insulation does not shift. Gadgets for comfort

The jacket has two spacious raised pockets, which can be accessed through the waist belt of the backpack. The pockets have a dense mesh on the inside and you can also use them for ventilation. The stretchy material, ergonomic cut, elastic cuffs on the sleeves and drawstring at the waist keep the jacket on the body - it ensures free movement without restriction both when climbing and when descending. The hood is compatible with the helmet and adjustable in two directions.

Extremely light material that can withstand the weather

The wool on the chest is covered with extremely light Pertex Quantum material, which is windproof, water repellent thanks to DWR and extremely breathable. Thanks to this, the jacket is not unnecessarily heavy and at the same time maximally insulates the chest, through which a large amount of heat escapes. The outer material not only protects against external conditions, but also keeps the heat you have warmed up under the jacket.

The reason why this happens is the static electric charge, which creates an unfavorable environment for the growth of bacteria and keratin, which does not absorb odors. For this reason, wool is an ideal partner even for multi-day hikes, when you don't want to carry a lot of clothes and at the same time not to alienate your friends. Easy maintenance

Wool is specific in many ways and one of them is its easy maintenance. Most of the time, it is enough to hang the clothes "in the draft". But when it gets dirty, the washing machine has to come. You take the underwear and wash it at 30 °C. We recommend not putting woolen items in dry cleaners and dryers!
