We wanted to develop a light but at the same time durable jacket for the mountains, which will not only serve as a backup piece of clothing for rainy weather. MAKALU JACKET is a very powerful and practical hardshell jacket. It is entirely made of a durable membrane GORE-TEX® PRE finesse 75 D.
Helmet hood
There are situations when it is impossible to do without a hood. Especially when it's windy or raining. The MAKALU JACKET hardshell jacket has a Mountain HC Hood type, which is compatible with a climbing helmet. It is equipped with a reinforced peak and the hood can be adjusted so that it fits perfectly even without a helmet.
The most perfect seams
Little things make a big difference. The seams of selected Mountain Equipment hard shell jackets, including the MAKALU JACKET, are sewn using smooth seams. You won't see any threads on the outside of the jacket. A jacket sewn in this way lasts much longer, because the seam threads do not rub against the backpack, rock and other materials. Even this sophisticated method of production is a guarantee of a long service life for you and that we really pay attention to the quality and refinement of our products.
The perfect shape of the sleeves from the shoulder to the wrist
The sleeves of the MAKALU JACKET are made of one piece with inserts placed so that the sleeve is natural in every position and does not restrict you in any movement. The cuffs of the sleeves are slanted, so they fit perfectly regardless of movements and at the same time protect against snow, wind and rain much better than straight cuts.
Zips that really don't get wet
Underarm ventilation is equipped with waterproof YKK® WR zippers. For the pockets and the main zipper, we used the highest model range of the renowned YKK® brand, specifically the AquaGuard® type. The all-over zip of the jacket is two-way and has a patent lock at the bottom. When belaying, you unbutton the lower part of the jacket and secure it with a zipper under the belay. You will be perfectly protected, but the jacket will not hinder you when working with the rope. Why not make your stay at the stand as pleasant as possible? During demanding physical activity, you can also use the ventilation zippers in the armpits.
Large and easily accessible pockets
The MAKALU JACKET has two large pockets and one small chest pocket. A seat belt or a backpack with a buckled waist and chest belt do not prevent you from reaching your pockets. You can get into them as easily as if you were wearing nothing. Their shape, openings and location are precisely designed according to these requirements. At the same time, they are large enough to hide winter gloves, topo roads, snacks and other things that you always need at hand.
