ORTOVOX Swisswool Piz Boe women's vest

A very light vest suitable for demanding activities such as ski mountaineering, ski touring and high mountain tourism. SWISSWOOL® wool insulation insulates heat even when wet and has excellent thermoregulatory properties. Durable Pertex® Quantum upper material with ripstop weave repels water and is windproof. Thanks to the stretch panels made of MERINO NATURTEC LIGHT material, it adapts even during dynamic movements.

Thanks to the combination of natural Swiss Merino wool insulation and synthetic Pertex® Quantum, this is a perfect piece of clothing that will keep your body warm and comfortable during any sports activity in the mountains.

Pertex® Quantum - resistance to water and wind

The Pertex® Quantum material is a densely woven material from recycled polyamide that does not blow out and is also highly breathable. Thanks to its ripstop weave, it is resistant to abrasion and tearing, even though it is soft and pliable to the touch. It is very light and pleasant to wear.

SWISSWOOL® – the story of renewed Swiss sheep breeding

Natural resources are often better materials than any synthetics. The hair of Swiss sheep is an example of this. Although it is not as soft as Merino, ORTOVOX decided to use its potential for insulating layers and with its idea significantly helped sheep breeding and local farmers.

SWISSWOOL® is a comfortable insulation made from strips of Swiss wool. These are placed in the individual panels of the jacket, thanks to which they stay in place and do not move. This wool insulation is ideal for active movement, because wool absorbs up to 35% of moisture into its core, so you feel dry even during high physical activity. Moreover, compared to synthetic insulation material, it degrades only negligibly and retains its properties for many years.

Zone construction

Comfort and freedom of movement are supported by MERINO NATURTEC LIGHT stretch panels located in the armpits and on the back of the shoulders. On the inside of the panels is combed Merino wool, for better moisture absorption and comfort. You will often be wearing a backpack, so the seams on the shoulders are moved lower to prevent them from being damaged and to be comfortable to wear.

Less weight and more space in the backpack

The SWISSWOOL LIGHT TEC model range, which also includes the ORTOVOX PIZ BOÈ, was designed for high and long-term performance in the mountains. Its SWISSWOOL® insulation layer (60 g/m2) is light and will keep you warm and dry. For minimal weight, you get a great thermal insulation layer that will keep your body heat even during high physical activity, when you sweat a lot.
