The very light ORTOVOX PIZ BOE JACKET is suitable for demanding activities such as ski mountaineering, ski touring and alpine tourism. SWISSWOOL® wool insulation insulates heat even when wet and has excellent thermoregulatory properties. Durable Pertex® Quantum upper material with ripstop weave repels water and is windproof. Thanks to the stretch panels made of MERINO NATURTEC LIGHT material, it adapts even during dynamic movements.
Thanks to the combination of insulation from natural Swiss Merino wool and synthetic Pertex® Quantum, this is a perfect piece of clothing that will keep your body warm and comfortable during any sports activity in the mountains.

Pertex® Quantum - resistance to water and wind

The Pertex® Quantum material is a densely woven material from recycled polyamide that does not blow out and is also highly breathable. Thanks to its ripstop weave, it is resistant to abrasion and tearing, even though it is soft and pliable to the touch. It is very light and pleasant to wear.

SWISSWOOL® – the story of renewed Swiss sheep breeding

Natural resources are often better materials than any synthetics. The hair of Swiss sheep is an example of this. Although it is not as soft as Merino, ORTOVOX decided to use its potential for insulating layers and with its idea significantly helped sheep breeding and local farmers.
SWISSWOOL® is a comfortable insulation made from strips of Swiss wool. These are placed in the individual panels of the jacket, thanks to which they stay in place and do not move. This wool insulation is ideal for active movement, because wool absorbs up to 35% of moisture into its core, so you feel dry even during high physical activity. Moreover, compared to synthetic insulation material, it degrades only negligibly and retains its properties for many years.

Perfect and great looking thermal jacket

You can use the ORTOVOX PIZ BOE JACKET as an outer layer and you don't have to worry about wet snow or drizzle. At the same time, it will replace your softshell because it is wind resistant. You can also use it as an insulation under a hardshell. You will like the jacket most during winter activities such as ski mountaineering and ski touring.

Zone construction

Comfort and freedom of movement are supported by MERINO NATURTEC LIGHT stretch panels located in the armpits and on the back of the shoulders. On the inside of the panels is combed Merino wool, for better moisture absorption and comfort. You will often be wearing a backpack, so the seams on the shoulders are moved lower to prevent them from being damaged and to be comfortable to wear.
On the left side of the chest is a pocket for documents, cash or a mobile phone (the phone's battery is insulated and does not discharge so quickly). Two spacious chest pockets are located higher for comfortable access even through the waist belt of the backpack. The pockets can also be used for ventilation as they are lined with mesh.

Its SWISSWOOL® insulation layer (60 g/m2) is light and will keep you warm and dry. This legendary German company named Ortovox has been specializing in challenging mountain activities since 1980. They became popular, thanks to their avalanche transceiver ORTOVOX F2. It had a double frequency transceiver for searching avalanche victims. Except for safety systems and finders, they also offer apparel, backpacks, shovels, probes, and other freeride and alpine equipment.
