Mountain Equipment Glacier 700 Regular Sleeping Bag

Quality sleep is one of the basic requirements for full regeneration during any outdoor activity. The Mountain Equipment GLACIER 700 down sleeping bag has a water and wind-resistant outer material, and is still highly breathable. The sleeping bag is filled with duck down and, together with its sophisticated construction, allows you to sleep comfortably even at -15 °C.

You choose the GLACIER 700 if you are looking for a versatile sleeping bag for year-round use, in which you will sleep comfortably both in the Alps and on a glacier.

Outer Material - DRILITE® LOFT 30 D

The DRILITE® LOFT 30 D outer material is strong, lightweight (55 g/m) and waterproof. It has a PU coating and a DWR water-repellent finish on the surface, which further contributes to keeping the down dry even in humid conditions. The down is thus protected from moisture and therefore from losing its thermal insulation properties. Thanks to its water resistance and low weight, the down maintains high loft for maximum thermal insulation in any conditions.

The 100% recycled SUPERSOFT TM 20 inner material is chosen for its low weight (37 g/m 2), high breathability, exceptional durability, and pleasant feel. It is also a material that does not let down through.

High-quality duck down with 700+ fill power

Very high-quality duck down from China contains at least 90% down, has a minimum fill power of 700 cuin, and meets the ethical DOWN CODEX®. The down is gently cleaned with water without chemical treatment. This reduces mites and their living environment, which is appreciated by allergy sufferers. The down retains its important fat and loft, is well packable, has high insulation and low weight.

"Chamber-by-Chamber" Construction

In each chamber, the amount of down is calculated to the gram for minimum weight and maximum warmth. This innovative "Chamber-by-Chamber" approach was developed by Matt Fuller, who is the only person in the outdoor industry with a PhD in down research. This approach takes into account the needs of each part of the body separately. Therefore, Matt Fuller also calculated the exact density of down in each chamber separately.

Anatomically shaped 5-chamber hood

The hood is shaped to protect the head even without tightening. 5 chambers with a higher density of down protect the head from heat loss, thus ensuring a comfortable sleep. The higher density of down prevents down migration and moisture penetration deeper into the chamber. If you need to tighten the hood, it's not a problem. Based on the shape of the drawstring, you know exactly whether you are tightening the upper part of the hood (flat drawstring) or the lower part of the hood (round drawstring).

Protective Collar

To prevent heat from escaping the sleeping bag, there is a 3D down collar on the inside that fills the space around the shoulders and neck. This "seals" the sleeping bag. The collar has a lower density of down so that it conforms precisely to the shape of your shoulders and neck. Everything is secured by the Lode Lock™ magnetic snap, which you can intuitively fasten and unfasten with one hand.

Insulated Zip Baffle

The weakest point of sleeping bags is usually the zipper. The triangular baffle is filled with down and synthetic material that adheres to the sleeping bag. The synthetic material prevents the down from moving along the baffle and at the same time insulates even when wet. The zipper is located in the lower half of the sleeping bag so that the heat rising upwards does not escape through the zipper.

YKK® Zipper with Auto-Lock

In a Mountain Equipment sleeping bag, you won't experience the unpleasant feeling of waking up in the middle of the night with a loosened zipper, because the zipper has a lock and won't unzip on its own. With a simple pull, you release the lock and unzip the sleeping bag when you want to. It works even after freezing – due to the comfortable, snag-free fastening, a high-quality YKK® zipper is used. This zipper works without problems even in frost, and you can rely on it at any time.

Warm Sleeping Bag

The GLACIER 700 is a warm sleeping bag of generous dimensions with a weight of 1230 g and resistance to water and wind, in which you can sleep comfortably even at -15 °C. It is suitable for longer hikes in a tent and for those who are trekking to higher Himalayan passes. Or if you are looking for a versatile sleeping bag for year-round use, in which you will sleep comfortably both in the Alps and on a glacier. The waterproof material guarantees insulation properties even during multi-week treks.
