Parameters of the Fenix BC26R bike light
- One Li-ion battery type 21700 5000 mAh is used for power supply (included in the package), in an emergency it is also possible to use one Li-ion battery 18650, but it is necessary to purchase the ALF-18 reduction.
- 5 power modes: 1600 lumens (3.5 h) -> 600 lumens (9.5 h) -> 200 lumens (18 h) -> 50 lumens (65 h) -> flashing (pulsing between 50 and 600 lumens). If the highest power is used for a long time, the lamp may heat up and activate the function of intelligent protection against overheating, which will automatically reduce the power.
- The lamp is attached to the holder using a quick-release mechanism, which allows it to be removed in an instant and just as quickly put back on safely.
- The rubberized design of the holder sleeve ensures a firm and secure attachment of the lamp to the bicycle, with simple and reliable adjustment of the lighting direction.
- The lamp can be purchased with a handlebar holder for a second bicycle, a Fenix ALD-08 holder for a bicycle helmet or flat road aero handlebars, a Fenix ALD-10 adapter for attaching the light to GoPro mounts.
- In addition, it is possible to purchase a USB adapter for the mains and a USB car adapter for the lamp, a USB adapter supporting fast charging and a coloured USB-C cable.
Using a bicycle light
- From the factory, there may be an insulating cap inside the lamp on the battery. Remove it from the battery before first use.
- To turn it on or off, hold down the side button for about 0.5 seconds. The lamp always turns on in the last used mode (except for flashing), you can switch to other power levels at any time during operation by pressing the button. To switch to flashing mode, press the button twice quickly.
- Battery capacity indication (valid only when powered by a 21700 Li-ion battery) - when the lamp is off, briefly press the button once, then the indicator LED in the button lights up for three seconds. Green lighting or flashing means the battery is more than 50% charged, red lighting or flashing means 50% or less. The indicator LED lights up even when the light is on, so the user is constantly informed about the state of the battery while driving.
- Warning about a discharged battery - if the battery capacity falls below a safe level, the lamp will automatically switch to lower power modes to ensure the longest possible endurance (then the lamp cannot be switched to higher modes). If the battery is critically discharged, the button starts flashing red. In this case, we recommend charging the lamp as soon as possible, so that the protective electronics built into the batteries do not switch off and thus the light goes out.
- Intelligent protection against overheating - after exceeding the temperature of 60 °C, the lamp will automatically gradually reduce power, after cooling below this limit, the highest modes will be available again.
Charging
- Unfold the rubber cover of the USB-C connector on the bottom of the lamp and use the included USB cable to connect it to a computer, power bank, USB network adapter or USB car adapter.
- While charging, the button lights up red, after full charge it lights up green.
- Charging time is about 4 hours. The used Li-ion battery does not suffer from a memory effect, so the lamp can be recharged at any time.
- During charging, the lamp can be used in an emergency, but only in the lowest mode of 50 lumens.
- After charging and removing the power cable, be sure to seal the USB-C connector cover.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the lamp head yourself, this will void the warranty.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after a long period of use, replace them. The rings must also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the lamp will be properly protected against water.
- If the lamp flashes, does not switch to higher modes or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost empty, charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the lamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The battery cap is loose, tighten it.
