KTM Fahrrad GmbH is an Austrian bicycle manufacturer based in Mattighofen, completely independent of the KTM motorcycle division since 1992. The brand was founded in 1964 with the launch of the first Fleetwing bicycle in the USA. It gradually became one of the few manufacturers to retain complete production in Austria - from painting the frames to hand-braking the wheels to rigorous testing. KTM has achieved several milestones: in 1988 the first MTB Ultra Cross, in 1994 aluminium frames and the first e-bike, in 2006 carbon frames and the PDS system, and in 2009 the first series-produced electric bicycle Energo Race. Today, it produces around 460,000 bicycles per year.
