The Edge 840 Solar is based on the proven equipment of the older model series and also brings a number of improvements, including extended battery life and new sophisticated functions of physiological metrics: Real-time Stamina and Power Guide.

With the Edge 840 Solar, you will always be ready to ride immediately, without unnecessary adjustments. Above all, thanks to the new sophisticated management of settings and data with detailed display settings depending on the type of activity (road cycling, MTB, indoor, etc.), connected sensors and also based on popularity. It doesn't matter what kind of cycling you prefer, the Edge 840 will add value to every ride.

Clear, colour display with touch control and anti-reflective surface. Clearly readable in all lighting conditions, with support for use even with gloves.
Edge 840 Solar provides a dual user interface via a touch screen supplemented with functional buttons (around the perimeter of the device) for full control and use even without a touch screen (even with gloves)
The universal ANT+ interface allows you to connect the Edge 840 Solar with accessories from various manufacturers and thus make the most of the smart functionality it offers
CLIMBPRO 2.0: feature of the popular tool provides the user with extended information about the current, ongoing and total elevation gain, terrain slope, remaining distance and distance to the summit (sections/ to the destination), altitude, etc. in real time. Supports automatic detection of climbs in your vicinity, along with other available info (elevation, slope, distance to the end of the climb and others)
The Grit metric will measure the difficulty of each ride
The Flow metric takes care of monitoring the smoothness of the descent and then evaluates the ride with a point score that you can try to improve on the next ride
When riding off-road, it records the total number of jumps, jump distance and also the associated Hangtime
Edge 840 Solar is equipped with an incident detection function, which is activated e.g. when falling from a bicycle
