Single derailleur systems are used in certain disciplines of road cycling, for example in triathlon, time trials or cyclocross - and it is for them that Sram developed the Sram Red 1 and Force 1 cranks with a single Aero derailleur. This Aero converter is not backwards compatible with previous 8 bolt cranks!
The power meter features improved aerodynamics thanks to direct-mount aero converters with fully integrated power, and the narrower gear range is ideal for racing and flatter terrain. The unique shape of the converter results in lower weight, stiffer and more durable cranks. The integrated design of the converter significantly reduces weight.
Performance data is accurate to within +/-1.5% and is not affected by weather conditions while driving.
8-bolt direct mount compatibility with new RED® and Force eTap AXS™ cranks only.
