DESIGNED FOR GRAVEL "FLARED" HANDLEBARS
The rubber lever covers have a rounded outer edge that provides proper support for the palm without hard edges that could create unwanted pressure points and thus discomfort when holding the handlebars.
So, if you already ride with a 45-degree or 0-degree bend on your handlebars, you'll appreciate the offset ergonomics of the levers.
TEXTURED LEVER COVERS FOR A FIRM GRIP
Thanks to the raised anti-slip patterns and grippy rubber on the rubber covers and shift levers, your hand won't slip, even if your hands are wet.
BRAKE LEVER WITH HIGH PIN
To achieve greater leverage and reduce lever reach, we moved the brake lever pivot point higher on the shifter body. MicroSHIFT has also revamped the overall design so that the lever pulls a little more cable than a standard road lever, ultimately providing a little more braking power when you need it most.
LOWER GEAR THAN A COMPACT DOUBLE GEARBOX
Climbing while riding a gravel bike is quite strenuous and cannot be avoided. However, you can make it easier by choosing the right gear. From a contemporary perspective, compact dual-drives are a bit old school. Modern gravel groupsets already promote lower gears that help maintain cadence even on steep roads, and the Sword group is firmly embedded in the trends of this new school.
The Sword 2x has a low gear ratio 24% smaller than a compact road double chainring. Sword 1x with 40-tooth chainring is 17% lower. This extra gear range will help you get to your destination in one piece, whether you're going for a bike ride or a stage of the Tour de France.
SILENT CLUTCH WITH INSTANT ENGAGEMENT
microSHIFT has redesigned our ratchet clutch from the ground up with two goals in mind: instant engagement and quiet operation. The new Sword derailleur delivers both. When it's time to remove the rear wheel, just flip the integrated switch on the arm pivot and the clutch disengages. Of course, it won't help you ride faster, but it's easy to use and disappears when you're not using it.
