7/8/9 - speed bicycle cassettes

A bicycle cassette consists of multiple gears of different sizes and number of teeth, allowing riders to choose the appropriate gear for efficient climbing, fast descents and smooth pedalling on straight sections. Here are some general tips, which will help you choose a 7-, 8- or 9-speed cassette:

Gear range: A multi-speed cassette generally provides a wider range of gears, which can be beneficial when tackling different types of terrain. Assess whether you need a wider range for climbing hills or sprinting on flat sections.
Compatibility: Make sure the cassette is compatible with your bike's drivetrain components. Cassettes with different numbers of speeds may require specific derailleurs, hubs, and chains.
Budget: In general, lower speed cartridges are more affordable. If price is an important factor, a 7, 8 or even 9-speed cassette can be a good choice.
Maintenance and durability: 7, 8 and 9-speed cassettes are often perceived as durable and easier to maintain compared to cassettes with higher speed counts.
Cassette upgrade: Keep in mind that upgrading to a multi-speed cassette may require chain, hub and derailleur upgrades, but can make the bike more versatile and powerful.
