Marking: A tire marked, for example, "700x23C" is intended for a rim with a diameter of approximately 622 millimetres, has a width of 23 millimetres and a total diameter of approximately 700 millimetres.
Jacket type:
- Tubeless: without an inner tube, less prone to punctures and can be used at lower pressures for better comfort and grip.
- Shower: they do not need special installation, sealant, valves and tubeless tape, they have a higher weight.
Tread pattern:
- Smooth: smooth pattern for less rolling resistance on smooth roads.
- Patterned: better grip on wet or uneven surfaces. Choose a minimal pattern for road cycling.
TPI (threads per inch): A higher TPI generally means a more flexible and lighter tire. Common TPI values range from 60 to 320. The balance between flexibility and puncture resistance is important.
