Lapierre Aircode DRS 7.0, model 2021
It seemed impossible to make the Aircode even faster and at the same time even more convenient than its predecessor. But our knowledge of carbon design and the World Tour experience of the Groupama FDJ team in collaboration with aerodynamic dynamics optimization specialists using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and subsequent demanding wind tunnel tests have opened a new chapter for Aircode.
And that this chapter is successful is proved by the 4 stage victories of Arnaud Demare at the Giro d'Italia 2020!
The aerodynamic and slim design plays with the laws of physics and aerodynamics. When designing the new model, we optimized all the details to make the frame as light as possible, especially in places where the inertia is highest, in order to increase the overall performance.
More integration
Do not look for cabling. To improve the frame curves and aerodynamics, the cabling is completely hidden in the handlebars and in the frame itself. To achieve this level of integration, we made a new type of stem, added 1.5 "ball bearings and designed a new type of front fork. In addition to improving aerodynamics, the result is the high aesthetic value of the new Lapierre Aircode DRS.
More aggressive geometry for even higher performance
We can improve the bike aerodynamically, but what would be the point if we did not improve the aerodynamics of the rider himself? This was a crucial task for us to achieve higher speed. With a more straight and constant seat tube angle for frame sizes from XS to M (74 °) and from L to XL (73.5 °) and a slightly elongated upper frame tube, we achieved a lower, more aggressive seat, reducing air resistance and improving aerodynamics. Thanks to the longer wheelbase, the stability of the front part of the bicycle has been improved, especially at high speeds. The rear of the bike excels in higher sensitivity due to shorter chain stays (405mm)
We have proved the unthinkable combination of stability, control accuracy and acceleration capabilities.
Speed and comfort are not mutually exclusive
With the new Aircode DRS, you will find out what it means to drive fast and as if after a mess, regardless of the condition of the road. The new design of the seatposts and their connection to the upper frame tube (which now protrudes above the level of the seat tube) dissipates vibrations and reduces the bending force of both the seat tube and the seatpost.
The results are incredible: the frame is now 12% vertically more comfortable than its predecessor. In combination with tubeless wheels (all models) and 25 mm wide tires (frame and fork are compatible with tires up to 28 mm), driving becomes a pleasure. It not only allows you to drive faster, but you can cover longer distances with less fatigue.
On the road and for triathlon.
The Lapierre Aircode DRS 7.0 and 8.0 models come with new carbon aero handlebars specially designed for use with carbon bars that attach easily to the handlebars.

All bicycles at the MTBIKER shop are new, not-ridden, from an official distributor and with a full warranty. Several brands even offer a lifetime warranty on the frame after registration. We perform all warranty services in MTBIKER stores after personal delivery or after sending the bike (or its part) by courier.
- The bicycle is taken out of the manufacturer's box
- The bicycle is assembled, inspected and adjusted (front and rear derailleur, shock, fork, wheels,...)
- The bicycle is carefully packed back into a box and shipped
- If you order a bicycle for in store pick up or home delivery, the bicycle will be waiting put together, checked and ready to use for you.
- If you order a bicycle via courier to your home address, the following must be done at home:
- Take the bike out of the box and carefully remove safety material and foils
- Mount handlebar to stem (1 minute, 4 or 5 mm hex hey is needed).
- Mount front wheel to fork (1 minute, without the need of any tools if the bike has a quick release).
- Loosen the screws in the headset, straighten the stem with the front wheel, tighten the upper screw on the fork and then tighten the headset (2 minutes, 4 or 5 mm hex key is needed).
- Mount the pedals to the cranks while lubricating the thread and carefully mounting it the right way (1 minute, 8 mm hex key or 15 mm wrench).
- Mount seatpost to frame (10 seconds, without needing any tools if the frame has a quick link).
- Inflate the tyres or fork and shock to desired pressure (2 minutes, pump needed).
- Check the tightening of hex keys and quick-releases (2 minutes, 4 and 5 mm hex key is needed).
- Go for a test drive! Handle your bicycle carefully until you get used to it. If the bike has disc brakes, their performance will be limited from now on - they will gain their full power after 4-5 strong brakes at higher speed.
