SL (Slim Line) collection: Women's cut
Shorter cut
The SL back length is specific for women: on average, women have shorter backs than men. The carrying system in the SL model is therefore somewhat shorter than in the Deuter standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy.
Narrower shoulder straps
The SL shoulder straps have a pronounced S-shape and soft edges all around. In addition, the ends of the straps are narrow. For a perfect fit in the shoulder area – nothing pinches or rubs. Straps that are close together are tailored to the narrower female shoulders.
I am a man. Can I wear the SL backpack?
Yes! The SL cut is based on an average woman's body. Since not every woman is “average”, our standard models may fit some women. It is the same around. SL cut may fit some men:
- with slender figure, except for unisex cut
- with long legs, because they have shorter back
- with clothing sizes 44 - 48 (S/M)
Our Extra Long (EL) backpacks guarantee perfect carrying comfort for tall people! Athletes who are between 1.85 and 2.00 metres have difficulty finding backpacks that fit. That is why we have lengthened the back lengths of the most popular Deuter backpack models by 6 cm to 9 cm and adjusted them to the proportions of taller people.
Due to the larger space requirement, we have also adjusted the volume of the EL models: the size of these backpacks is therefore optimally tailored to the wearer. The back system, properties, and details of the individual EL backpacks correspond to the standard models.
