UNBEARABLE LIGHT
Inspired by our favorite down jackets, we made a very warm cycling equivalent with minimal weight. However, while your traditional down jacket offers very low breathability, our synthetics allow us to create lower textile layers for superior air breathability. The construction of this jacket is similar to a winter mountain jacket, using insulation sandwiched between two woven layers, an outer and an inner. However, unlike classic ski jackets, this one is not completely wind and water resistant. We have allowed a small amount of air to get inside and thus help the sweat to evaporate better, which is more effective than using any membrane. The middle layer is made of cotton wool insulation, which we made from polypropylene, partly because it is extremely light (specific weight 0.6g), but also because it does not absorb moisture either from sweat or rain. The limited elasticity of these materials necessitated the use of a new cut, so this jacket is not as snug as most of our racing jackets. If your goal is just segments on Strava, then you better take our Alpha or Perfetto jacket, but if your goal is real and not virtual victory, then this jacket will make your winter ride better.
