Material for rocks

For the 120 TEC collection, we use a combination of materials consisting of 85% merino wool and 15% polyamide. The uniqueness of this material lies in the complex production process of the fibers themselves (CORESPUN technology developed by the Südwolle Group©). The highest quality merino wool fibers are wrapped around a core of polyamide fibers. Using this technique, fibers are created that are very soft and smooth to look at.

The resulting material is a perfect combination of the stability and durability of polyamide with the proven advantages of merino wool.

The highest quality Merino wool

ORTOVOX uses only the highest quality Merino wool from Tasmania. Merino wool is a material that degrades only negligibly over time and retains its functional properties for many years.

Properties of Merino wool:

It can naturally regulate moisture - it absorbs moisture into its internal structure and remains dry on the surface.
It can naturally regulate body temperature - it has a large thermoregulatory range.
It is 100% environmentally friendly and ecologically sustainable.
It has antibacterial properties, thanks to which it can neutralize odors.
It is soft, does not scratch and is comfortable to wear.
It is easy to maintain and has a long service life.

ORTOVOX has demanding criteria for sheep breeding itself, which significantly affects the quality of its wool. In order to fulfill this, ORTOVOX only buys wool from a few selected farms that are subject to regular inspections and that meet the strict standards of the ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE (OWP).

ORTOVOX obtains new merino wool from certified sheep farms that adhere to ethical principles of animal treatment.
Only wool from Tasmanian sheep meets the demanding requirements of the ORTOVOX brand.

These farms are regularly monitored as part of the OWP. The wool itself is 100% ecological and therefore extremely environmentally sustainable. Merino wool provides perfect comfort and a feeling of softness thanks to the thin fibers that make up fine woolen yarns. In addition, this wool perfectly regulates temperature and wicks away sweat, so you will feel comfortable in any conditions. In addition, Merino wool neutralizes odors thanks to its antibacterial effects, and it is very easy to care for.

This legendary German company named Ortovox has been specializing in challenging mountain activities since 1980. They became popular, thanks to their avalanche transceiver ORTOVOX F2. It had a double frequency transceiver for searching avalanche victims. Except for safety systems and finders, they also offer apparel, backpacks, shovels, probes, and other freeride and alpine equipment.
