Jan Kopka Journeys through Hell and Snow book
The book shows three races completed by the author, each held in completely different conditions.
Three races in different conditions. One in the scorching heat, another in the unbearable frosts, the third in the unimaginable hills, and all in the untouched wilderness. The races are almost transcontinental and any planned support on the route is prohibited. The participant has to survive only with the things he chooses and takes with him. In addition to survival, however, he must reach the finish line as quickly as possible. The book focuses not only on the races themselves, but also on the sudden events and psyche of the participants in exacerbated situations. There is no need for them at a time when you are dependent only on yourself. The author also notices the special kind of people who run these races for survival, the wild environment where the races take place, and the local people, who live an incredible, still fully natural life for us. The whole book is accompanied by exclusive photographs, the first part even by the excellent photojournalist Markéta Navrátilová.
Note: the books "Hell" and "Alaska" follow each other very loosely, but nothing is repeated in them and each contains different stories and adventures
