The Yakima S53 wing-shaped roof rack is designed to have minimal aerodynamic drag. It is virtually silent when driving and has a negligible impact on fuel consumption. Mounting between the longitudinal rails hardly increases the overall height of the vehicle, which you will appreciate especially when entering low garages or parking lots.
The carrier looks very unobtrusive on the vehicle, so you can use it all year round without having to dismantle it in the off-season. The integrated T-slot for mounting accessories is covered along its entire length, eliminating annoying squeaking while riding. Assembly and disassembly are easy and can be done with just an Allen key, which is conveniently stored directly in the carrier's foot. The carrier does not require a mounting kit, the only exception is the specific VW Golf MK7 Variant vehicle model.
