Black Crows Navis Freebird 179, X10 - KH Alp set
Navis Freebird 2022/2023 set
Bruno Compagnet designed the freebird navis skis for his expeditions to Patagonia, Greenland and big skis in Chamonix. If, like him, you believe in beautiful long lines in the mountains, where you want to enjoy every second, then Navis Freebird is your ideal ski. The hybrid core of paulownia and poplar, the width of 102 mm and the low weight give the navisum freebird the characteristics of freeride skis, with which you can complete even the most demanding ascents. The tuned combination of carbon and fiberglass makes the skis stable on all types of snow.
Unevenness, high speed or changing snow will not disturb your stability in the arch
Do you expect a perfect descent with long bends even at higher speed from every hike? Then navis freebird will definitely make you happy! They are prepared for different terrains with different types of snow, which you can enjoy to the fullest thanks to their excellent driving characteristics - and with perfect stability.
- The hybrid core with poplar - used in downhill and freeride skis - absorbs vibrations and provides peace of mind to the skis, which also hold perfectly even when the snow changes or when crossing unevenness.
- Carbon and fiberglass reinforcement - gives the skis increased longitudinal and torsional rigidity - you will definitely feel it even at higher speeds.
- Reinforcement under the binding from Tinanal - absorbs vibrations, ensures stability when crossing unevenness - even at high speed, the ski is calm and stable.
- Progressive rocker - 38 cm, 21% of the ski - gives the skis buoyancy when entering soft snow and copies terrain irregularities well - the skis do not "kick".
- Camber on the central part - thanks to the long effective edge, you will feel stable even when in contact with snow - the ski will not shoot in the arc.
Sheer joy from simple control
The upper parts of the slopes are often steep and full of narrow places, where you will appreciate the easy handling of black crows skis the most. Navis freebird were designed so that even when driving fast, when you often have to change direction or avoid bumps, they listen to your word. Pomáha im k tomu -
- The straight part behind the tip - shifted point where the cut ends - the ski is more agile, you can easily change direction with it, but at the same time it remains stable even in a long arc.
- Tuned longitudinal stiffness - softer tip and heel, stiff middle - when loaded in an arc, the ski bends more easily and creates the angle needed for turning - easily and quickly without losing stability.
- Double radius - the ski touches a longer edge after leaning into a curve than when driving straight - the ski is spinning, but at the same time it doesn't force you to go into a curve if you want to enjoy speed on the plains.
- Rocker and raised foot - shortens the contact edge - enables easier entry into the arch.
Ideal skis for big mountains and for freeride in the resort
You will appreciate freebird navis skis on demanding hikes with long descents, where the conditions often change, as well as on downhill runs in the resort. You won't be surprised by an ice layer, a frozen firn, or a hard rutted slope. Carbon and fiberglass combined with a poplar core give the skis excellent grip on hard snow. The width of 102 mm in combination with the progressive rocker allows you to ride on different types of snow without having to change skis or wait for better conditions.
Fritschi Xenic 10
In the 2019/20 season, the Fritschi brand came up with the new Xenic 10 model in the category of light bindings, ideal for skis up to 105 mm under the heel. The Xenic 10 model weighs only 280 g (560 g/pair) without brakes and will be appreciated especially by ski alpinists who pedal more, pay attention to weight, but do not want to compromise on safety and comfort of use. Among other things, the Xenic 10 binding model is the result of the modernization of existing Fritschi technologies and offers users various innovations in safety, user comfort and controllability while driving.
Brand new tip and pin jaws from Fritschi
The Fritschi Xenic binding tip is completely redesigned. This is the first binding whose pins open and close laterally, ie to the side and do not rotate around a fixed point. This mechanism offers two main advantages:
- easy entry into binding,
- much greater resistance to unwanted shutdown in the event of an impact from below, which can occur at higher speed or when hitting the skis
- it also switches off vertically in walking mode – when covered by an avalanche, loss of balance during ascent or falling during short descents on belts.
- made of carbon supplemented with proven modern polymers - they are lighter than metal parts and at the same time have higher strength and durability.
You can also attach the harshajs to the tip, which are available in three widths: 85 mm, 95 mm and 105 mm. The tip is also equipped with a place to attach a strap in case of use without brakes.
Swivel heel with adjustable release force
The heel of the Fritschi Xenic 10 binding combines low weight and safety features, which until now have only been available in heavier ski mountaineering bindings. The heel platform is wide and offers an optimal transfer of the power transferred to the ski and thus achieves excellent downhill properties. The lateral release force can be adjusted to DIN values from 4 to 10 using the screw on the back of the binding. The precision of the adjustable vertical tripping force is ensured by independently rotating pins (advantage over U-shaped pins) from force DIN 4 to 10.
- The transition between pedaling mode and skiing is easy and comfortable with the help of a rotating heel. The heel of the Fritschi Xenic 10 binding can be turned more easily by 180° using the flipped heel support, which gives you more leverage.
- The heel can deflect up to 13mm before disengagement to prevent unwanted disengagement from shock and vibration while driving. Also, when bending the ski, where the distance between the tip and the heel is shortened, the heel can move and prevent unwanted shutdown at important moments, while also eliminating damage to the binding.
Excellent skiing thanks to the active heel
The active sliding heel adapts to the ski boot by up to 10 mm when the ski bends during the ride and enables smooth bending of the ski along its entire length, which is a necessary feature of the binding for perfect skiing. A binding that does not have an active heel will cause the ski to bend, the center will stiffen, and the ski will bend only before and behind the binding, which significantly worsens its driving characteristics. Fritschi has eliminated this problem, which is why the Xenic 10 binding is also great for excellent riding enjoyment.
Light and above all safe skitouring binding
Skitouring binding Fritschi Xenic 10 is the best choice for those who want light and at the same time safe binding on the slopes without the need to lock the toe. The Xenic 10 binding is intended more for pedaling, but it can easily handle downhill. Thousands of climbed meters and great skiing experiences are definitely waiting for you with it.
Easy to turn on even on a steep slope
The new generation Fritschi Xenic 10 has an innovative tip that you can "kick" even blindly because it has:
- stops from below,
- stops from the sides,
- stop on the tip of the ski boot,
- sensitive trigger.
Thanks to this, when turning on the tip of the ski boot, it is precisely guided into the correct position - it is located between the spikes and a sensitive trigger, and even with a little pressure, it releases the spikes, which fit exactly into the inserts in the ski boot.
Kohl Alpinist
Unique climbing belts for ski alpinists designed especially for long transitions, when you need maximum slip, high resistance and excellent grip even in -30 ° C or spring temperatures. The belts consist of only two layers, when vulcanization is used, and the belt is therefore lighter and 100% waterproof. The fibers of quality mohair are longer and can withstand rougher handling. The adhesive layer is modified with Smart Glue technology, which enables the strips to be glued together even at low temperatures, and at the same time, it is not necessary to use separation foils or nets without compromising the quality.

Smart Glue – newly developed glue
One of the things that you need with skialp belts is that the adhesive (adherent) layer holds firmly on the slide even in the most demanding conditions. The Austrian manufacturer KOHLA is a leader in adhesive layer technologies and is constantly improving and innovating them. The proof is the newly developed Smart Glue, which you can really rely on and it holds great even in really cold weather.
- When gluing ski mountaineering belts with Smart Glue glue, you do not need to use a separation film and you only need 60% of the force to unglue compared to standard belts.
Excellent slide
Climbing belts KOHLA ALPINIST 100% Mohair Universal are fast, have an excellent slide, will not slow you down in fast movement and will save much-needed energy during a several-day transition. This is thanks to the mohair used and the method of braiding the fibers:
- mohair fibers, their cut and quality, are chosen exactly so that they are fast and have the best possible glide even on variable snow
- the fibers have a special treatment that improves the glide even more
- the use of a longer fiber significantly increases the resistance and life of the belt while maintaining a very fast slide.
It holds firmly even in spring weather
In order for the climbing belt to reliably hold on the slide, both the slide and the adhesive layer must be dry. If moisture from the snow gets on the glue, it stops working, peels off, freezes and doesn't hold. For this reason, these KOHLA ALPINIST climbing belts use vulcanization technology, in which the fiber is directly sealed into the bottom layer and the belt is therefore 100% waterproof. So you can enjoy your ski tour without worries, because the glue holds firmly, does not freeze and works great even in spring winters on wet snow.
Belts with vulcanized technology have a longer lifespan, because the hair is woven into the fabric and at the same time baked into the underlying rubber. Thanks to this, the belt does not get wet and has a significantly higher grip in demanding spring conditions.
Impregnated climbing belts
Good risers must hold well on the skis and glide well on the snow. Wet snow can stick to wet tracks, and there is nothing more annoying than having to drag half a kilo of snow on your leg. The belts stop sliding and it takes a lot of force unnecessarily. All KOHLA climbing belts are impregnated with fluorocarbon and snow does not stick to them.
- The impregnation repels moisture and thus prevents snow from sticking to the fibers.
- The impregnation improves the glide - climbing belts are faster and movement is easier.
- Impregnation increases the resistance of the fibers - climbing belts last longer.
- Climbing belts dry faster.
- The impregnation is environmentally friendly - without solvents and toxic substances and is biodegradable.
Still like new
With frequent use or after several seasons, the impregnation effect may decrease. In this case , you can easily renew it with KOHLA DRY CLIMB skin impregnation spray or KOHLA impregnation wax. The wax is small and convenient to have on a hike in a backpack, especially for a several-day transition.
