The third and also the first edition of Hikemates. The third in a row, but the first written in both Czech and Slovak. Czechs and Slovaks are united not only by a common past and the fact that we understand each other when we communicate in our languages, but also by a love for the mountains. It doesn't matter where we are from, we love the Krkonoše Mountains and the Tatras equally. That is why we want to publish a magazine that is close to both Slovaks and Czechs.
Not only the weight of the backpack, but also our thoughts, health problems and lack of experience often stand in the way of the experiences that the mountains easily offer. In the third issue of Hikemates magazine, you will learn what burdens we carry with us to the mountains, and you will find answers on how to deal with them.
We will advise you how to get rid of pain in your knees, how to arrange your first aid kit for the mountains according to your needs, and how to choose a sleeping bag that will keep you warm without weighing extra pounds.
Even Caro, who will show you what it's like to be a mountain guide, can't do without the right sleeping bag on her expeditions. Italian guide Luca will take you on a five-day trek to one of the wildest areas of Italy on the slopes of Mont Blanc.
