Fenix E-STAR lamp with dynamo

The Fenix ​​E-STAR back-up lamp combines power supply with a NiMH battery and a hand-held dynamo. The pencil NiMH battery with a low self-discharge and a capacity of 1300 mAh is charged inside the lamp using a USB-C connector. Thanks to it, the lamp can produce up to 100 lumens for a short time. In an emergency situation, it is possible to use the built-in dynamo as a power source, driven by a lever that is simply pressed with your fingers. The dynamo partially charges the NiMH battery, but mainly the built-in supercapacitor, which can supply energy for up to two minutes of lighting on one charge (approx. 15-20 seconds of pressing the dynamo). When powered by a dynamo, the duration of the lamp is theoretically infinite and depends only on the endurance of your hand. The lamp can also work without an inserted accumulator, which can be replaced in case of emergency with a regular AA pencil battery. Fenix ​​E-STAR is an excellent backup lamp for conditions when you will not have access to the power grid or spare batteries for a long time.

All lamp parameters (luminous flux, battery operation time, waterproofing, afterglow and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

The use

From the factory, there may be an insulating cap inside the battery. Remove it from the battery before first use.

To turn on the lamp, move the rectangular switch to the front position, the lamp will always turn on at the lowest power. Moving it in the opposite direction turns off the lamp again. The lighting modes are switched by pressing the square button. To activate the 100 lumen turbo mode, hold the square button for more than 0.5 seconds. After releasing the button, the lamp returns to the last used lighting mode.

Protection against overheating - after a minute of operation at the highest turbo power, the lamp switches to a lower mode.

NiMH battery charging - unfold the rubber cover of the charging connector on the side of the lamp and plug the enclosed cable into the lamp (USB-C connector), plug the other end of the cable into the computer or the USB adapter into the mains or car (not included in the package). During charging, the indicator LED near the button lights up red, and when fully charged, it lights up green. After charging the lamp, carefully seal the charging connector again with a rubber cap. Charging a fully discharged battery takes about 3 hours when using a 1A source. In an emergency, the lamp can also be used while charging, but only the 20 lumen mode will be available and the charging time will be longer.

Warning

• Do not disassemble the sealed parts of the lamp yourself, this will void the warranty.
• In the case of using a disposable pencil battery, remove it from the lamp if you will not use it for a long time or if the battery is discharged. This will prevent the battery from leaking and subsequently damaging the lamp.
• Insert the battery with the positive pole towards the lamp head.
