Giro Aria Spherical women's helmet, matte black
Futuristic design packed with technology - that's the Aria Spherical women's helmet.
The unique Vivid by Zeiss lens ensures that you always see every detail on the slopes perfectly. The unique Spherical Powered by MIPS technology increases protection against rotational forces. It works on the principle of a joint - the helmet shell consists of two hemispheres that move together like a joint. The outer shell can rotate around the inner shell in the event of an impact, reducing the forces that would otherwise act directly on the head and brain. It is such a suspension inside the helmet. Maximum comfort is ensured by linings made of Polartec material, adjustable ventilation, Thermostat Control, and a magnetic Fidlock buckle.

MIPS IS A MOVEMENT
PROGRESS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKI HELMETS
All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible during impact and meet the applicable European standard: EN 1077. The goal of the new MIPS technology is to eliminate rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall and subsequent impact on the slope. In an impact at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
WHAT IS MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
MIPS is a slippery insert between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner linings. In the event of an impact at an angle, the EPS shell of the helmet rotates a few millimeters after the MIPS layer, protecting the head and brain from a violent rotational jerk.
