Mountain Equipment Paiyu women's jacket, majolica blue/stellar blue
The modern women's down jacket Mountain Equipment PAIYU WOMEN'S JACKET with a unique patented offset baffle construction offers extra thermal comfort, which is so necessary in the winter mountains.
Thanks to its construction, it is very lightweight and packable, while its thermal insulation is comparable to much heavier expedition down jackets. With its waterproof DRILITE ® Loft outer material, you can wear the PAIYU WOMEN'S JACKET down jacket even in adverse conditions with the certainty that the down will not get wet immediately and lose its thermal insulation properties.
- Outer waterproof DRILITE ® Loft 40 D material enabling high down breathability for maximum thermal comfort.
- 237 g (size 12) of pure down in a 90/10 ratio and 700 cuin fill power.
- Unique offset baffle construction "Double layer offset baffle construction".
- Internal thermal reflective material for even better thermal properties of the jacket.
- Each baffle is filled with down separately with a precisely defined amount of down for optimal insulation.
- Fully adjustable insulated Mountain HC Hood, helmet-compatible.
- High-quality two-way YKK ® zipper with an internal storm flap to prevent heat loss and a snap button at the bottom – when belaying, you can unzip the lower part of the jacket and secure it with the snap button under the belay device. This way, the jacket won't get in your way when working with the rope.
- Two insulated zippered pockets.
- Two chest pockets.
- Internal zippered chest pocket and two large mesh internal pockets.
- Elasticated cuffs with Velcro adjustment.
- Adjustable hem using drawcords. Separate drawcords for adjusting the front and back parts, so there is no risk of snagging on a carabiner when attaching it to the gear loop of the harness.
- Comes with a stuff sack.
The golden mean when choosing a warm down jacket
If we compare the technologies used to produce a down jacket, the offset baffle construction is truly unique. Compared to classic quilted baffles, it is more wind-resistant, has fewer cold spots, and therefore much better thermal insulation.
Compared to down jackets with 3D baffles, it is significantly softer and more comfortable to wear and has a lower weight. On the other hand, it will never have as good thermal insulation as 3D baffles, and it will never be as light and resistant to abrasion as jackets with FIRESTORM™ construction.
Down jackets with the "Double layer offset baffle construction" are the golden mean, but definitely not a compromise. For a good price/performance ratio, you will be rewarded with a real portion of warmth and comfort.
