The batteries are located in a separate case connected by an adjustable cable, which can be worn on the back of the head, attached to a belt, placed in a pocket, or a backpack. This increases wearing comfort and better protects the batteries against cold in winter. The battery case is equipped with a battery capacity indicator and a USB output, so you can also use it as a portable power source (power bank) to charge your mobile phone or GPS navigation.
The headlamp offers a total of 11 output modes. In the lowest mode with 50 lumens, it provides excellent runtime of up to 120 hours (i.e., 5 days). The headlamp is powered by a digitally regulated constant current to ensure consistent light output even as the battery voltage decreases (as they gradually discharge). The HP30R V2.0 is particularly suitable for cross-country skiing, ski touring, night running, cycling, fishing, caving, expeditions, and other activities.
The body of the headlamp is made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. This ensures excellent cooling and resistance to damage.
All headlamp parameters (lumen output, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
Operation - the headlamp is operated by a rotary switch. In its central position, the headlamp is off.
Battery status indication - by pressing the button on the battery case, the battery capacity indicator is activated (four illuminated LEDs indicate 80 - 100%, three LEDs 60 - 80%, two LEDs 40 - 60%, one LED 20 - 40%, one blinking LED indicates less than 20% battery capacity).
Charging - open the rubber cover of the USB-C connector on the side of the headlamp and connect it to a computer, mains USB adapter, or car USB adapter using the included USB-C cable. You can also use any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector for charging. During charging, the indicator LEDs on the battery case blink; after full charging, they light up continuously. Charging fully discharged batteries takes approximately 4.5 hours.
To activate the USB output (power bank function), connect the device you want to charge and press the button on the battery case. Activation of the USB output is indicated by blinking LEDs on the case.
Intelligent overheat protection - if the headlamp temperature rises above 60 °C, it will automatically start reducing its output until its temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature drops below 60 °C, the output will automatically increase again. Operation at the highest output modes is therefore not limited by time, but only by temperature.

The second generation of the extremely powerful Fenix HP30R V2.0 headlamp offers unparalleled performance of up to 3000 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of 270 meters. Excellent performance was achieved using a powerful XHP50 LED and a pair of XP-G3 S4 LEDs with a warmer light tint. The headlamp is equipped with a long-throw reflector and two smaller reflectors with a wide beam. Both reflectors are controlled separately, but they can also be turned on simultaneously in combined mode. - Wide reflectors: 1000 lumens (10 hours) -> 200 lumens (34 hours) -> 50 lumens (120 hours)
- Combined mode: 3000 lumens (5 hours) -> 1800 lumens (6 hours) -> 400 lumens (17 hours) -> 100 lumens (60 hours)
Using the Fenix HP30R V2.0 Headlamp
From the factory, there might be a white insulating cap inside the battery case on the batteries. Remove it from the batteries before first use.Operation - the headlamp is operated by a rotary switch. In its central position, the headlamp is off.
- long-throw reflector - to turn on the long-throw reflector, turn the switch clockwise; the headlamp will turn on in the lowest output mode, and by turning further, the output increases up to the highest mode. Turning back decreases the output.
- wide reflectors - by turning the switch counter-clockwise, two LEDs for a wide beam of light will turn on, from the lowest to the highest mode; in the opposite direction, the output decreases.
- to activate combined mode, you need to turn on one of the main modes (long-throw or wide) and briefly press the button on the side of the switch. The output of the combined mode then decreases or increases in the same way as the originally selected circuit. The combined mode can be turned off by partially pressing the side button (turns off one of the circuits) or completely by turning to the central position.

Warning
- Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Use only high-quality Li-ion batteries to avoid damaging the headlamp, for example, due to leakage of battery contents.
- If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher output modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- Batteries are almost discharged - charge or replace them.
- Ensure that the connector on the cable between the headlamp and the battery case is securely connected.
- The contacts in the battery holder are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
