Fenix HL17R is a multifunctional, ultra-lightweight headlamp that illuminates with a luminous flux of up to 500 lumens and a beam distance of 100 meters. Despite weighing only 65 grams, it houses an integrated 1000 mAh battery, conveniently rechargeable via a USB-C connector directly on the lamp body. The light source is a modern Luminus SST-20 LED with a cooler light tone, complemented by additional colored LEDs. The unique magnetic mounting system allows for instant removal of the headlamp from its holder, enabling its use as a handheld flashlight. The HL17R offers a total of four brightness levels of white light and five atmospheric color modes. Usage

Turning On/Off and Switching Modes - When the headlamp is unlocked, press and hold the main switch for 0.5 seconds to turn it on/off. The lighting functions of the selected mode are then switched by briefly pressing the same switch.

Switching Between White Light and Colored Lighting - Rotate the light ring clockwise to select the lighting mode: White Light → Colored Light.

Locking/Unlocking - With the headlamp on, rotate the light ring counter-clockwise (to the lock position) to lock. Rotate the light ring clockwise to unlock the headlamp and access the previously used output of the currently selected lighting mode.

Memory for Last Set Output Mode - The headlamp has memory and will turn on in the last set output mode of the selected lighting type.

Gesture Control - With the headlamp on, press and hold the sensor switch. The headlamp will flash white three times, and the gesture sensor indicator will flash blue, indicating that this function is activated. Once activated, you can turn the headlamp on/off by waving your hand. With the headlamp on, press and hold the sensor switch again to deactivate this function. Turning off or locking the headlamp deactivates gesture sensing. To use this function again, reactivate it after turning the headlamp on. The sensing range is approximately 10 cm in front of the headlamp and may vary slightly depending on the material and color of the sensed object, ambient light, selected output, and waving speed. Gesture sensing uses an infrared sensor. If another object moves within the sensing range in front of the headlamp other than your hand, the headlamp may also turn on/off.

Charging - Turn off the headlamp and connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging port. The indicator light is red during charging. It turns green when fully charged. The headlamp can be used in all modes except the highest during charging.

Battery Level Indication - Each time the headlamp is turned on, or after pressing the button when it's off, the indicator LED activates for three seconds. If the indicator light is green, the battery is charged to over 85%. Green flashing indicates 50-85% capacity. If it's red, it's charged to 25-50%. Red flashing means less than 25% battery capacity remains.

Intelligent Overheat Protection - When using the headlamp in high output modes, a significant amount of heat accumulates. When the headlamp reaches 60°C or higher, it automatically reduces the output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will gradually increase again.

Low Battery Warning - When the battery voltage drops below a set level, the headlamp will gradually decrease the brightness to a lower level. Once the lowest output is reached, the battery level indicator will start flashing red to remind you to recharge the battery.

Warnings

• Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• Lock the headlamp to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
• When storing, check the headlamp every four months, or recharge it to approximately 50% for optimal battery life.
• If the headlamp is flashing, not switching to higher output modes, or not turning on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is discharged; please charge it.
  • The headlamp is locked; please unlock it.
