Mountain Equipment Helium 800 REG women's sleeping bag, medieval blue
Mountain Equipment Helium 800 - REG Women's Sleeping Bag
Quality sleep is one of the fundamental requirements for full regeneration during any outdoor activity. The Mountain Equipment HELIUM 800 down sleeping bag weighs a very pleasant 1230 g, yet allows you to sleep comfortably at -16 °C. It is filled with very high-quality duck down. Suitable for sleeping in a tent, winter room, or under a shelter from spring to autumn.HELIUM 20 – 100% recycled, very light, easily packable
The Helium 20 material is 100% recycled, exceptionally light (38 g/m2), packable, soft, and at the same time very durable. The high weaving density prevents down leakage, is windproof, and prevents heat loss. Thanks to the water-repellent PFC-free DWR treatment, it is also water-resistant. This material is ideal where low weight and packability are the most important factors.
100% recycled inner material SUPERSOFTTM 20 is chosen for its low weight (37 g/m2), high breathability, exceptional durability, and pleasant feel. It is also a material that does not leak down.
High-quality duck down with 700+ fill power
Very high-quality duck down from China contains at least 90% down, has a fill power of at least 700 cuin, and meets the ethical DOWN CODEX® standard. The down is gently cleaned with water without chemical treatment. This reduces mites and their living environment, which is appreciated by allergy sufferers. The down retains its important natural oils and loft, is well packable, offers high insulation, and has a low weight.
Sleeping bag construction details
- The exact amount of down is calculated for each chamber for minimum weight and maximum warmth. This innovative "Chamber by Chamber" approach was developed by Matt Fuller, who uniquely holds a PhD in down research in the outdoor industry.
- Structurally exceptional insulation – so-called Body-mapping considers the needs of each body part separately. Therefore, Matt Fuller also calculated the precise down density in each chamber individually.
- Not a gram of heat escapes – Angled chambers minimize heat loss through seams and keep the down in place, preventing migration within the chambers. Heat remains in the sleeping bag thanks to the elimination of thermal bridges in the seams through which heat escapes.
- 3D hood without the need for tightening – the hood is shaped to protect the head even without tightening. 5 chambers prevent down migration, protect the head from heat loss, and thus ensure a comfortable sleep. If you need to tighten the hood, it's not a problem. The shape of the drawcord tells you exactly whether you are tightening the upper part of the hood (flat drawcord) or the lower part of the hood (round drawcord).
- Ergonomic footbox – feet need to be insulated as well as possible because they have poor circulation. The bottom of the sleeping bag is angled in a trapezoidal shape, and the toe area is raised like a dorsal fin. Thanks to this ergonomic shape, you won't compress the chambers in the foot area with your feet, thus preserving the insulation properties that keep your feet warm. The bottom of the sleeping bag is made of the warmest V-chambers and is so complex that it is manufactured separately and then sewn onto the sleeping bag.
- Down used in the footbox and hood has a higher fill density, which prevents moisture from penetrating deeper into the chamber. You will appreciate this when sleeping in a snow cave, in contact with a wet wall, or with condensation inside the tent.
- Protective 3D collar around the neck – to prevent heat from escaping the sleeping bag, there is an internal down-filled 3D collar that fills the space around the shoulders and neck. This effectively seals the sleeping bag. The collar has a lower down density to conform precisely to the shape of your shoulders and neck. Everything is secured by a magnetic snap that you can fasten and unfasten intuitively with one hand.
- Insulated draft tube along the zipper – the weakest point of sleeping bags is often the zipper. The triangular draft tube is filled with down and synthetic insulation that lies close to the sleeping bag. The synthetic insulation prevents the down from shifting along the draft tube and also insulates when wet. The zipper is located in the lower half of the sleeping bag so that rising heat does not escape through the zipper.
In a Mountain Equipment sleeping bag, you won't experience the unpleasant feeling of waking up in the middle of the night with a loosened zipper, because it has a lock and won't open on its own. With a simple pull, you release the lock and can unzip the sleeping bag whenever you want. Works even after freezing – for comfortable, snag-free zipping, a high-quality YKK® zipper is used. This zipper works flawlessly even in frost, and you can rely on it at any time.
DOWN CODEX® – symbol of ethical animal husbandry
DOWN CODEX® is a certification of down origin, its quality, and the ethical and ecological approach to animal husbandry. Every year, the farms from which Mountain Equipment sources down are inspected by the independent Swiss organization IDFL to meet the highest quality standards. This guarantees high quality of animal living conditions, and thus the quality of the down. One does not work without the other.
- Every down product has a unique code under which you can trace the origin of the down and its parameters.
- Comprehensive and transparent audit system of down origin, from all brands and anywhere in the world.
- In Mountain Equipment products, down is always only a by-product of farms raising animals for meat or eggs.
