The top all-round model in the FFWD range uses a rim with LAW TECH technology in its second generation, where LAW stands for 'Laminar Airflow Wing'. This proprietary FFWD design optimizes aerodynamics and stiffness, especially when used with wider tires. The wheels are designed for universal use on the road and gravel and are optimized for perfect power transfer and airflow. Compared to the first generation of the RYOT model, the new wheels have rims manufactured using the same technology as the higher-end RAW model, which has led to a significant weight saving, while the wheels' durability remains uncompromising. The external brass nipples used make servicing easier and increase the wheels' durability. The lacing is a combination of Sapim CX Ray and CX Sprint spokes in a 2:1 ratio, which contributes to better stress distribution in the lacing and balanced stiffness on both sides. The package is completed by proprietary FFWD hubs in their second generation, designated as N/GAGE 2:1 Straightpull. These hubs are an evolution of the proven FFWD TWO/ONE hubs with lower weight and a star-ratchet freehub system. Among modern wide all-round wheelsets, this represents a unique balance between excellent performance and price.
