SILCA Nastro Piloti Handlebar Tape, 1.85 mm, Red
The Silca Nastro Cuscino tape, despite its 1.85 mm thickness, rivals 2.5 mm thick tapes in comfort thanks to its technology.
By using laminate of SILCAthane, SILCAlon and 3M Visco-elastic adhesive instead of a single foam extrusion, the tape can be optimized for a range of desired properties. The resulting tape is softer and more comfortable, has higher grip wet or dry, better vibration isolation, and a 3-5x longer lifespan than other tape materials.
Taping is as important as the tape itself, which is why Silca developed the "butterfly" with a fully adhesive backing – it covers the rear section better, and is finished with an aluminum end cap.
The technologies are inspired by running shoes, F1 tires, and Silca's own damping research.
