Making an even faster and at the same time more comfortable Aircode than its predecessor seemed impossible. But our knowledge of carbon construction and the experience of the World Tour team Groupama FDJ in cooperation with specialists in aerodynamic optimization using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and subsequent demanding tests in the wind tunnel have opened a new chapter for the Aircode.
And the fact that it is a successful chapter is proven by Arnaud Démare's 4 stage victories at the Giro d'Italia 2020!
The aerodynamic and slim design plays with the laws of physics and aerodynamics. In the construction of the new model, we have optimized all details to make the frame as light as possible precisely where the inertia is highest, in order to increase the overall performance.
More integration
Don't look for cables. To improve the frame's curves and aerodynamics, the cabling is completely hidden in the handlebars and the frame itself. To achieve this level of integration, we have produced a new type of stem, added 1.5" ball bearings, and designed a new type of front fork. The result, in addition to improved aerodynamics, is also a high aesthetic value of the new Lapierre Aircode DRS.
More aggressive geometry for even higher performance
We can improve the bike aerodynamically, but what would be the point if we didn't improve the aerodynamics of the rider themselves? To achieve higher speed, this was a fundamental task for us. With a straighter and constant seat tube angle in frame sizes from XS to M (74°) and from L to XL (73.5°) and a slightly extended top tube, we have achieved a lower, more aggressive position and thus reduced air resistance and improved aerodynamics. Thanks to the longer wheelbase, the stability of the front of the bike has improved, especially at high speeds. The rear of the bike excels with higher sensitivity due to the shorter chainstays (405mm)

Speed and comfort do not exclude each other
With the new Aircode DRS, you will find out what it means to ride fast and as if on velvet, regardless of the road condition. The new design of the seat stays and their connection to the top tube (which now rises above the seat tube level) dissipates vibrations and reduces the bending force of the seat tube and seatpost.
The results are incredible: the frame is now 12% more vertically comfortable than its predecessor. Combined with tubeless wheels (all models) and 25mm wide tires (the frame and fork are compatible with tires up to 28mm), the ride becomes a pleasure. It allows you to not only ride faster but also cover longer distances with less fatigue.

Lapierre Aircode DRS 7.0 and 8.0 models come with new carbon aero handlebars specially designed for use with carbon extensions, which are easily attached to the handlebars.
