The high-quality air damper with 2-position Open / Firm control lever that maintains the high and low speed compression settings has received many improvements for model year 2021: • complete redesign, damping and improved "bumper" for progressive resistance before stop • 8-position quick adjustment compression (HSC) and rebound (HSR) are the same as for GRIP2 damping forks • HSR now uses Variable Valve Control technology • the closing of the damper for pedaling is stiffer than in the previous version X2, thanks to a separate damper locking valve • shorter expansion the damper chamber ensures compatibility with multiple bicycle frames • stiffer damper body to reduce hysteresis - damping force delay • improved air chamber requires fewer inserts to achieve the same support • new seals with lower friction and a more durable piston rod finish.
