The Yakima S53 wing-shaped roof rack is designed for minimal aerodynamic drag. It is virtually silent while driving and has a negligible impact on fuel consumption. Mounting between the longitudinal rails barely increases the overall height of the vehicle, which you will especially appreciate when entering low garages or parking structures.
The rack looks very unobtrusive on the vehicle, so you can use it all year round without any problems, without needing to remove it off-season. The integrated T-track for mounting accessories is covered along its entire length, eliminating unpleasant whistling while driving. Assembly and disassembly are simple and can be done with just the Allen key, which is conveniently stored directly in the rack's base. The rack does not require a mounting kit, with the exception of the specific VW Golf MK7 Variant model.
