Yakima S42 crossbars with a wing shape minimize aerodynamic drag, making them completely silent while driving regardless of vehicle speed and having virtually no impact on fuel consumption. They are designed to be mounted between the longitudinal roof rails, thus hardly increasing the car's height. This solution is ideal for drivers with limited overhead clearance, for example, in garages, and at the same time contributes to the overall aesthetic appearance of the vehicle. The racks can be used all year round because they do not disrupt the appearance of the vehicle and are silent while driving.
A T-slot is used for mounting accessories, which is covered from the inside and remains covered along its entire length. This effectively prevents unpleasant whistling that can occur with uncovered slots. The installation and removal of the racks are very simple, as the only tool required, an Allen key, is cleverly stored directly in the base of the rack, so you always have it at hand. Yakima S42 do not require a separate mounting kit.
