WARNING
- Do not disassemble or modify the product. It may cause the product to not operate correctly, and you may fall unexpectedly and be seriously injured.
- Before attempting to ride with these pedals and shoes, be sure you understand the operation of the engagement/release mechanism for the pedals and shoes. SPD pedals are designed to release only when needed. They are not designed to release automatically in the event of a fall from your bicycle.
- Only use SPD shoes with this product. Other types of shoes may not release from the pedals, or may release unexpectedly.
- Only use SHIMANO cleats and securely tighten the mounting bolts to the shoes. If the bolts are not securely tightened, your foot may not be able to release from the pedals, resulting in a fall.
- Before you attempt to ride with these pedals and shoes, apply the brakes, then place one foot on the ground and practice engaging and releasing each shoe from the pedal until you can do so instinctively and with minimal effort.
- Practice riding on a level surface first until you become adept at engaging and releasing your shoes from the pedals.
- Be sure to adjust the cleat retention force on the pedals to suit your own preference before riding. If the cleat retention force on the pedals is weak, the shoes may disengage accidentally, and you may lose your balance and fall off the bicycle. If the cleat retention force on the pedals is too strong, the shoes may not release easily.
- At low speeds or when there is the possibility that you may need to stop (for example, when making a U-turn, approaching an intersection, riding uphill or turning a sharp corner), release your shoes from the pedals beforehand so that you can quickly put your feet on the ground at any time.
- When riding in adverse conditions, use a lighter cleat retention force for attaching the pedal cleats.
- Keep cleats and bindings clear of dirt and debris to ensure proper engagement and release.
- Be sure to periodically check the cleats for wear. When the cleats are worn, replace them and adjust the cleat retention force before riding and after replacing the pedal cleats. If the above warnings are not heeded, the shoes may not come out of the pedals when you want them to, or they may come out unexpectedly or accidentally, which could result in a serious injury.
-If the reflectors are dirty or damaged, it will be difficult for oncoming vehicles to see you. Replace the reflectors with new ones.
