The Keeppower 950 mAh (16340) protected rechargeable battery is based on lithium ion technology. Li-ion technology gives one of the best ratios of the amount of stored energy to the weight of the cell. The batteries have no memory effect and self-discharge is minimal. Compared to the standard Fenix RCR123A battery, this cell has about 30% higher capacity while maintaining the same dimensions, so the lighting time is also about 30% longer with this battery. We verified the capacity by our own measurements.

Battery protection can be divided into two areas. In the first one, electronic circuits are added on the negative pole, which prevent the cell from being overcharged (a situation where there is a risk of explosion with classic Li-ion batteries), or, on the contrary, from discharging too much (the battery would then not be able to be recharged). In addition, these circuits protect the battery against a short circuit or high current consumption, which could damage the battery. If the battery electronics evaluates reaching the limit values, it disconnects the cell. In the second, there is protection against overheating (PTC thermal protection) and a special anti-explosion valve.

The size of the RCR123A accumulator corresponds to a disposable lithium CR123A battery, which is why it is often used in lamps as a recharging alternative to these disposable cells. Check first if your appliance supports this article, as it has a higher nominal voltage than a disposable battery. These batteries can be used, for example, in Fenix E15 XP-G2, E16, E18R, PD25R, LD15R, Fenix RC09, HM50R, HM51R, GL06, GL22, CL09, PD30, TK10, TK12, TA2 lamps.

ATTENTION - do not use in Fenix E15 (does not apply to E15 XP-G2), PD10, PD12, PD20, PD22 (does not apply to Ultimate Edition) and HL50, there is a risk of damage to the electronics!
