TECHNOLOGY FROM ANOTHER HARD SPORT
The incredibly low weight and compatibility of the Vela vest is due to the material that is also used on sailboats. The water- and wind-resistant material is made of Dyneema® yarn, similar to the white core in climbing ropes and also in bulletproof vests. However, the material has its origins in sailing on the water. Ultra light weight and extreme tensile strength have been combined in a sport where cost is not important. All that matters is victory. We chose material with DWR treatment and a density of 50 g/m² and added stretch fabric inserts for better breathability. You get frontal wind protection and significant water protection in one piece of clothing that weighs next to nothing and can be packed away in any pocket.
