Castelli ALPHA DOPPIO ROS women's jacket

The top of the line winter jackets, it delivers warmth, breathability and a high level of rain protection, along with a soft and perfectly fitting cut. This jacket is an example of what a winter cycling jacket should look like.

Even the best currently available materials with a good level of breathability cannot deal with the sweat and heat generated during high-intensity riding. That's why we developed a two-layer construction that allows you to have the outer, windproof layer unzipped while the inner insulating layer remains on - thanks to airflow, moisture can escape and the outer layer doesn't come into direct contact with the skin. When riding uphill, you can completely unzip the outer layer and ventilate the moisture, and before descending, you can zip up and be completely dry inside. It works so well that you feel like they are lines.

For this generation, we used a softer and warmer insulation material - Polartec® Alpha Direct. We also made a few changes to the ends of the jacket: the neck, the waist and, first of all, the wrists. We lengthened and strengthened the neck so that it moves with you, whether you are pedaling while standing or riding with a friend at a joint training session in January. We created a stretch panel on the waistband with a flat silicone trim that fits perfectly and insulates from the wind without rolling or riding up. We've updated the wrist termination - it has an inner layer that fits snugly around the wrist and goes into the glove and an outer layer that wraps around the outside of the glove so water runs down the road and not into the glove.

This jacket will stand up to wet conditions, we used GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® with waterproof taping of critical seams on the shoulders. The other seams are hidden from direct contact with water, and the water-repellent treatment of the fabric keeps most of the moisture out. The jacket is, as we say, "essentially waterproof", to the maximum extent while maintaining a balance between water protection, breathability and comfort. We don't claim that not even a drop will penetrate, but we regularly take long rides in rainy weather and are completely dry. These features make it the favorite jacket of most of our ambassadors and staff, and is the most versatile winter jacket we've ever made.
