The new Mitas Hyperion casing is based on the very popular Charybdis casing, against which it has a deeper tread, an elongated front lamella and three-way adhesive grooves on the surface of the individual members.

Textreme technology is a very dense and extremely strong rubberized fabric on the sides of the tire and around the heels. Provides higher resistance to side puncture with minimal effect on tire weight.

TPI (EPI)- hustota vlákien kostry plášťa. Čím vyššia hodnota TPI, tým flexibilnejší a pružnejší bude plášť.
Kevlarový plášť- pätka tvorená z kevlarových vlákien. Plášť sa dá skladať, je teda praktickejší pri presunoch či skladovaní. Vyznačuje sa nižšou váhou oproti drôteným plášťom a vyššej odolnosti pred prerazením.
Drôtený plášť- pätka tvorená z drôtu. Plášť je neohybný, je ťažší oproti kevlarovému.
